13.40-14.10 BUILDING REGULATIONS

It is well understood within the electrical contracting industry that a series of British Standards must be considered when designing, installing and testing electrical installations. These include, BS 7671, BS 5839-1/6, BS 5266-1 amongst others. In addition to these standards, legislation also applies to those working within the industry. Such legislation includes the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 (as amended), and the Building Regulations 2010. Jake and Tim will take a look at the many elements of the Building Regulations (England) that may apply to the work of designers and installers of electrical installations.
