Advocacy 2019

Advocacy Overview We know that when our staff, volunteers, board members, and families come together, we are a powerful force to advocate for change. Together, we can impact legislation that improves the lives of the people we serve as well as the broader disability community. Hammer’s advocacy efforts aim to bring together our main stakeholder groups to support and bring change that improves the lives of the people we serve. Groups include families, friends, staff, volunteers, and self-advocates, who are the people served by Hammer. We all must advocate for individuals with disabilities, because each person has the right to receive quality services to live life to its fullest. Public Affairs Committee Hammer has an active Public Affairs Committee which follows legislative changes and works with our trade organization, ARRM, to advocate for those we support.
