Our Story Hammer Travel is an extended service of Hammer Residences, Inc. Since opening its doors in 1923, Hammer’s passion to provide quality services for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities has helped thousands experience life to its fullest. More than 94 years later, the mission of Hammer Residences remains true to Miss Hammer’s vision. Hammer Residences will remain a community of people who respect an individual’s abilities, whose collective spirit makes dreams come true, and whose innovations continue to lead the way. Hammer Travel became a natural extension to further this vision. Hammer Travel was created to provide and support travel opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities around the country who are interested in traveling.

REAL ID UPDATE (FOR MINNESOTA RESIDENTS) As of this printing, Minnesota has received an extension until October 10, 2018. After this date, Minnesota IDs/Driver’s Licenses will no longer be valid for air travel. Future extensions are possible, but will only be granted if the state continues to show progress towards REAL ID compliance. All Minnesota residents are eligible to apply for an “enhanced ID” which will be valid for air travel after the October deadline. Please see the DMV website for locations and details, as not all locations offer enhanced IDs. Passports and Passport cards will also be accepted for air travel after the October deadline. For more information, visit: dps.mn.gov. We will continue to be in direct communication with the Department of Homeland Security, and will provide updates as we receive them. You can call us with any questions or go directly to the Department of Homeland Security’s website for updates: dhs.gov/real-id/minnesota.

SERVICES AVAILABLE TO YOU Prepayment Plans: If you know you want to travel in the future, but haven’t made up your mind yet, you can pay in advance for any travel option. After coordinating your payment with Hammer Travel, you can decide where to travel at a later date! Customized Vacations: If you prefer to travel by yourself or exclusively with a group of friends, contact us and we will work with you to put together an all-inclusive trip package. PCA Discount: If you sign up four individuals on the same trip, you may send a PCA at no additional cost. Travelers needing a 1:1 ratio can bring their own staff at a discounted rate.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY All cancellations and changes must be made in writing (letter, fax, or email). Cancellation refunds will be calculated on the date the written notification is received by Hammer Travel. Cancel by dates: • Prior to trip registration date: Full refund, less $150 processing fee and any pre-purchased items pertaining to the vacation package. • Up to two weeks after trip registration date: Less the deposit, and possible refund as determined by Hammer Travel. • Two or more weeks after Trip registration date: No Refund available.
