FIRST-CLASS MATERIALS FINNSPA infrared saunas are finished with one of two high-quality woods, cedar or hemlock. Both woods come from North America and have their own characteristics. In order to make your choice between the two easier, we will present these qualities to you in greater detail:
CANADIAN CEDAR The high-quality infrared saunas from FINNSPA Type C are finished inside and out with hand-crafted Canadian cedar. The majestic “Western Red Cedar” is NOT a tropical wood, but rather is native to the woods of the temperate coastal region of Canada. The Canadian cedar is known as one of the hardest woods and has anti-bacterial properties. The reason for this is the cedar oil contained in the wood, which is naturally protected from fungal growth and bacteria, even when the wood becomes damp. It is the delicate oils of the Western Red Cedar which unleash the aromatic cedar fragrance in the room and bring about an immediate feeling of well-being. What’s more, the cedar timber also insulates extremely well – perfect for infrared saunas! The wood used for the FINNSPA infrared saunas is crafted from the core of the Western Red Cedar and shows a straight grain and clear, thick rings. The warm and friendly ambience of the resin-free wood will sweeten every home. The natural structuring of the cedar affords your spa area a particularly high-quality and natural charm.
Hemlock All Laseno models and H Type FINNSPA models are finished with Hemlock on the inside and outside. The Canadian hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) is native to North America, though because of its quality was introduced to Europe from as early as 1730. Hemlock is regarded as a classic sauna wood because it is resin-free, it is easily worked and it weighs relatively little. Warm nuances in colour from light brown to light red and a clear, yet not too strongly emphasised wood structure are characteristic marks of this wood. The missing resin channels make the hemlock odour neutral to a large extent, creating a pleasant atmosphere.

Violet Violet is the colour that represents supernatural, spiritual and inspiration. Violet light helps in meditation and has a strengthening effect on the immune and lymphatic system
Colour light therapy increases your well-being, everyday stress is forgotten and can counteract negative feelings. FINNSPA therefore enriches the wellness programme in the infrared sauna with specific dye baths. Each colour has a certain wavelength and thus a very particular energetic vibration. These colour vibrations can be absorbed on the whole skin surface and are released in cell reactions that are registered by the brain. The positive psychological effect of colours has been studied for a long time. Colours even played a major role in the practice of medicine in ancient times. YELLOW Yellow light gives us a positive outlook and general well-being. It strengthens the nervous system and has a brightening effect on melancholia and gloom. Yellow light also helps with depression, muscle tension and asthma. Yellow light should only be used for 5-10 minutes for inflammation, swelling and high blood pressure.
GrEEN Green light inspires and soothes. As a base colour of nature, green light harmonises the body and nerves, regeneration and recovery. Green light has a positive effect on the bronchi and lungs and helps with high blood pressure and insomnia.
BlUE Blue is the colour of the water and the sky and symbolises clarity and silence. Blue light relaxes you when suffering from nervousness and insomnia and has a pain-killing effect. The cool calm is also suitable for fever, sore throats and inflammation.
TURQUOISE This colour is refreshing and cooling. Turquoise is considered the colour of clear creative expression, creativity and communication. Turquoise light soothes, strengthens perception and enhances expressive power. To this end it has a harmonising effect.
DURATION OF COLOUR LIGHT THERAPY Depending on your mood you can of course determine the duration of your light bath. However, we recommend RED Red is the colour of heat. Red light stimulates blood flow and metabolism, it increases our well-being and gives us energy, courage and vitality.
