FROM THE DESK of the
Dear Members,
It has been my pleasure to lead Hampton Hall Club and community over the past five years through its transition from the declarant to a member-owned club. Today, Hampton Hall has a very strong and healthy balance sheet, a vibrant membership, and a professional and experienced management team and staff.

Taking over the leadership of a club community following a transition can be a daunting task. Especially one that has a diverse demographic of retirees, young professionals, families and three distinct home types, along with a complex governance and operational structure outlined in its covenants. However, in 2019, I led the Board on the road to two of their most important responsibilities, creating and forming a strategic vision for the future of Hampton Hall Club along with identifying their fiduciary responsibilities and financial needs for the future of the community. This work was instrumental in establishing Hampton Hall’s vision, mission, and strategies to achieve the goals we set then and are currently working on today. Communication as an initiative was identified as a top pillar in our strategic plan. Today, we utilize several communication platforms for our members including a responsive website, “Coffee with the GM”, town hall meetings and board briefs. We continue to address the expectations and desires of all members.
In March 2020, COVID-19 entered the world. Your professional staff held Hampton Hall together as a community offering programs for engagement while practicing social distancing and continuing to show up for work. The management team and I learned a great deal about the membership, ourselves, and each other over my tenure. Foremost, we enjoy working together as a team to serve the membership. Through educational opportunities and innovative programming our team continues to meet challenges head on while planning for operational needs of the Club. Balancing the membership experience and practicing fiscal responsibility are paramount to our team’s success. I truly believe that our staff is our greatest asset.

Together, through my work with committees and advisory groups, HHC embarked in 2021-2022, on a campus wide Master Plan for the community. In 2022, we settled the lawsuit with the declarant, and I formalized a new Infrastructure Advisory group to oversee the long-awaited lagoon remediation project. We also began a property wide common grounds improvement plan, and now in 2023, are in the process of rewriting our covenants and by-laws with a renowned attorney that specializes in private club governing documents. These documents should be brought to the membership for review this fall.
Through the work and support of many, membership fees are now at an appropriate and competitive level for our current market. The increase in membership fees, along with responsible budget and reserve planning have allowed a full remodel of our Community Clubhouse, the installation of an automated front gate operation system and a brandnew sports complex for bocce and pickleball (featured to the right). We have also refurbished the outdoor and indoor pool complexes and are midway through the restoration of our Pete Dye Signature 18-hole golf course. The funds for these projects were all accumulated following the developer turnover and all the projects were envisioned and executed without debt or a special assessment!
I am proud to say Hampton Hall has been voted “The Best Community in Bluffton”, received rankings in Club and Resort’s “Top 100” for several different categories, was featured in Executive Golfer as a premier golf course in the Carolinas and is second to none in the inordinate number of friendly neighbors. This has led to a significant increase in home values over the past five years. Truly a remarkable story and one I am very proud of.
I share this with you professionally and personally as I embark on my new career opportunity and leave the safety of our gates…I will remember fondly all of the wonderful and very professional staff that I call my work family, and I will
Welcome LISA RANDALL Executive Assistant to the General Manager
reflect on the amazing friendships I’ve developed and the abundant support I received as your leader from so many of you. Change can be scary…of course, it’s breaking out of your comfort zone and going for something new. But without change, there is no growth. Growth and change go hand in hand, and when together, they lead to greater happiness and fulfillment. Remember this when you envision the future of Hampton Hall as it to grows as a club and community in the Bluffton area. Be Outstanding Together!
Warmest Regards,
Loraine Vienne
