Review: Lady Dinah Cat Emporium

Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium By Hanane Zahrouni It’s raining cats here at Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium, from the moment you pass the threshold and enter the newly infamous cat cafe you are greeted with hairballs and kitties galore. Located in Shoreditch, the cafe, decorated with a quaint Victorian theme, has been the talk of the town since its financing via a successful crowd funding campaign. So popular in fact, that their online booking system crashed thanks to over 3,000 bookings being made in the first day of opening. Visitors to Lady Dinah’s can decompress after a long day with a cup of brew, sandwiches and pastries whilst spending their afternoon in the company of (as founder Lauren Pears puts it) purring feline friends. Oh and let us not forget their scrumptious scones, clotted cream, bone china and loose leaf tea. Split on two levels, the lower ground follows with the same theme, thanks to the incongruously mix-matched sofas and assortment of vintage furniture, making it even more homely. The vibe is more family-owned Lake District tearoom than East London hotspot. Designed as a home away from home where one can indulge in some exquisite, purr therapy, Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium was also created as a second home for rescued cats, offering non-mog owning Londoners the place to coo over kitties. Whether you just want a cuddle or to take a #catselfie with your new feline friends, hotfoot it over to Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium site to pre-book a visiting slot. You can also to keep tabs of every cat at the emporium by following their Instagram account. HZ
