Our Blue Roof System offers a distributed runoff collection storage option that can be used to hold water on the rooftop at peak storm periods. After a storm, the system ensures that water from the rooftop is released into the stormwater disposal system only when there is sufficient capacity to handle the excess flow, thereby avoiding flooding and overcapacity at water treatment facilities. The unique, web-based, cloud computing system leverages optimization algorithms. These algorithms use up-to-theminute weather forecasts, real-time weather data, and other sensor monitoring information to determine the best periods to collect and release water from rooftops. This smart drain technology also communicates between the other networked buildings to create a powerful collection system that retains water at the most critical periods, preventing localized flooding, polluting of natural bodies of water, and overcapacity to water treatment facilities.
