A vegetative roofing filter fleece’s design is integral to having a successful vegetative roof. This is realized through ample pore space in the fleece to prevent it from clogging; thus preventing anaerobic soil conditions. It is also this same design that prevents the fine particles of growth media from compromising the underlying drainage / retention boards. We attain these qualities through geotextiles that are produced from a rot proof polypropylene thread that uses a needle felting method.

Our Extensive Filter Fleece is used when the drainage system needs to be protected from fine particles entering from the substrate layer. Specific to this product, it: acts as a separation between vegetation areas and vegetation-free zones separates drainage and substrate layers in multilayered structures is designed with the perfect elasticity to allow the fibrous root structures of extensive plant species to penetrate it enables plants to uptake water from the drainage / retention board without deteriorating the fleece’s filtration capacity
