Love Yourself A CHILDREN’S BOOK ABOUT BODY POSITIVTY
BY: HANNA AABRAM
When you are born, you come out pristine, clean and untouched by the earth.
After only a few years in the world you may already have freckles from when the sun kisses your face.
Or a knee and elbow scrape from those outdoor adventures.
Once you are a teenager you might notice some stretch marks and acne scars.
But don’t think twice about this darling, it’s these things that make you beautiful.
When you get a little older, you may have constellations of freckles
And a galaxy of scars.
But this is just the evidence that your body has been working hard.
Then once you’re even older you’ll start to notice something different.
Some crinkles in your skin that hadn’t been there before.
These ones are called crow’s feet.
These one’s are called smile lines.
You get them from being happy and laughing and smiling.
Now some women aren’t happy with these wrinkles, or freckles, or stretch marks or even their bodies.
So they get surgery to change the way that they look.
And yes, they might feel prettier temporarily, but they erase a lifetime of laughter and memories that our bodies hold when they change themselves.
Life is beautiful, therefore age is beautiful. Learn to love your scars, your stretch marks, your freckles, your wrinkles, your tummies, your thighs, your bodies, because you are beautiful.
No matter what shape you are or what stories your skin tells, I will love you... And you will love you too.
