Logo intentions After researching the Posters and making a decision on the font I would like to use for my poster I will now research and analyze logos of museums, both famous and not so to expand the knowledge I have on the different styles and forms of them. They all have a different appearances which ultimately create different moods and atmospheres that is emitted from them. I will look at a few different logos to see how they can all differ and be different, for example, using just words or also including images of shapes.

http://www.thehigginsbedford.org.uk/ This is the logo design for The Higgins Belford Museum and Gallery of Art. It uses a bright pink colour which makes it immediately eye catching which also allows the viewer to then learn about what the company is for. It also uses the initial of 'H' as the main part of the logo which makes it very recognizable in its bright pink colour if it is then put somewhere else for the museum to promote itself.

http://madmuseum.org/ This is the logo design for Museum of Art and Design, also calling themselves MAD as this is the initials of the Muesum as well it makes it very different and unique. It uses a circle for the main part of the logo and then uses a triangle within the circle to then create three separate areas. Within these they repeated the words MAD to enhance the name of the museum and create balance throughout the whole of the shapes. Below the shapes in big and bold writing is the title of the museum again making it clearer to the viewer who the logo is for and enable it to be recognized easier in future. The colour palette is very limited by using only black and white. This keeps it very simple and also very effective as the contrasting colours make them stand out even more.

https://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/ The logo for the National Gallery in London is very simple and straight to the point. It uses a plain black, 'Times New Roman' making the logo of the museum look sophisticated and classic. The simply use the name of the museum/gallery to form the words of their logo enabling it to very recognizable and allowing the viewers to know that wherever it appear, on a http://www.tate.org.uk/ poster or something, it is being directly supported The logo for the Tate Modern is similar to The National from the museum company. The way that they have Gallery because it uses the title of museum to directly used an older looking font also links in with the fact name and form the logo. However, it is also quite different that they show and hold a wide variety older and because of the fonts used. The National Gallery uses a historical pieces of art. classic font to link in with the older art works displayed there whereas Tate modern uses much more 'up-to-date ' fonts to express that they present more modern art in their museum. They use a fuzzy font that almost blurs out the words of 'Tate' making it look visually interesting, different and eye catching. The word 'Modern' is also shown in capitals that look a little rounded and less classic than that used in the logo above. This makes it appear much more contemporary to our day.

Designing my own Logo After looking at and researching other logos for museums I started to create my own. This is the final outcome I have made on the Adobe Photoshop. To create it I used a similar font to that of the National Gallery because I wanted it to look very sophisticated and elegant. I also took inspiration from the Higgins Bedford logo by having the initials of the Musuem Company in a much larger font and taking up two thirds of the logo. I didn’t like the way it had looked when the two letters were separated so I then joined them together to turn it into one letter that expresses them both. I then used a fancy calligraphy line to add some panache and flair to the logo. This line is also a way to separate the top section of the conjoined initials to the actual title. I named it 'The Remembrance' because my theme is to do with war and conflict and I feel that giving it this name is a really good way of expressing the need to remember all the horror people went through to serve their country but to also remember the amazing art works of artist over the years.

To then improve my logo and add some more detail to it I created a clipping mask using Adobe Photoshop again. To link in with the theme of Remembrance and war/conflict I used an image of a poppy to fill the lettering and shapes (poppy image shown above.) I feel that you can see that it is a poppy image from the colours shown and the way it has different shades flowing through the petals. However, I also feel that the way the colours have different shades that flow and almost trickle down the letters it looks like blood from those that have given up their life for their country or been horribly murdered from spite and hate. I feel that adding in the clipping mask to the logo makes it look more interesting and would make it easier to remember as well as making it look different to the logos I studied as none of them use a technique like this. I also deleted the background so there is nothing to frame it as I believe it would look better on posters or brochures without one.

Font Intentions After analyzing posters and the layout of them, I have decided to look at font styles for inspiration for the style I would like to have my title to be displayed in. I have chosen a variety of different fonts to look at a it allows me to see how the difference between each can have a different effects on words and whatever my working title will end up as. They all have a different mood and feel to them and by looking at a wide variety of them it allows me to discover and select the one that works the best for my theme of Conflict.

This font style links to the works that I have looked at because it looks as though it has been painted and formed through brush strokes. I feel that it looks very classy and sophisticated as well as looking quite historical because of the way it uses fancy calligraphy writing.

Although this is my least favourite of the four, I still really like it because it looks very futuristic which would be a contrast to the fact that the Art Work that will be exhibited is old and historical. It is also very easy to read and because of the bold writing people would easiy be able to read it and understand what the title on the poster and other elements of the work says.

This font looks to me looks both sketched but because of the harsh and jagged edges that come out on the point of the words, it looks as though it could be something like barbed wire which is also an element well associated with the war. The way the writing is much bolder as well makes it seem much more 'present' and would easily stand out and make it easy for the viewers to read.

I really like this font because it looks very old and as if it had been written many, many years ago. It links in with the starting theme I had of time but also with theme I am focusing on now of war and conflict as it looks very Roman and they're famous for their wars and fights of conflict. I also like the way that it looks abstract and sophisticated and is still easy to read for whoever is viewing the poster or anything with the title on it.

Possible Titles: • • • • • • •

The Art of War Conflict Making Art not War Warring Conflict The Concept of Conflict War and Conflict The Rose of War

Chosen Title: 'The Art of War' I have chosen this as my title because I feel it gives a strange feeling by thinking of War as Art because a lot of the time Art is beautiful and colourful whereas War is ugly and full of bloodshed. It also implies that a lot of the paintings within will have themes to do with conflict and War.

Chosen Font: I have decided to use the font above after looking at a deciding between the four I had looked at more detail. I have chosen this one because I feel that it looks quite old and reminds me of the Romans which will enable the viewer to understand that the paintings within the exhibition will be from all over the world and from all ages and periods of time. I think that this font could work really well to make my poster and exhibition look different and stand out more.

Poster Intentions For my exhibition poster I will be first gaining inspiration from ones already made. I will focus on those made around the theme of war and conflict as that is also the theme in which I will be studying and basing my personal investigation on. I will use a wide range of websites to find the posters I will analyze and will then help to generate ideas and inspiration for my final poster design. On the next slides are analyzed posters clarifying the fonts, colours, layout and over all appearance of the poster – what I like and don’t like as well. All these aspects of the posters will ultimately help me to define and discover what my own and final poster for my exhibition will look like. I will then start to design my own poster to promote my exhibition using inspiration from all my research. I will try varying ways on how to lay it out and how to portray the information to the viewer as it can give off different vibes and moods to the viewer. I want to be able to intrigue the viewer and make the poster bold and eye catching as well as being able to depict exactly what the theme I am focusing on is.

http://museums.gov.gg/Exhibitions-05-09 The poster is for a special exhibition located in the Guernsey Musem of Art. It is separated into what looks like four layers which separates the images from the information and allows us as viewers to define the most important information to pick out and read. The poster uses a very limited colour palette of black and white with the accent colour of red. To me this makes the poster look all the more striking because it catches the eye of viewers because the red stand out even more. Furthermore, the colour red links in with the theme of war as it could've been used to represent the blood shed during the conflict. The same font has been used throughout the poster to make it look completely united in and more aesthetically pleasing to look at.

The top layer that has the three army figures running takes up half the page making the viewer instantly recognize that the Exhibition is to commemorate that of those who had died for us and was then depicted and shown through Art and Paintings. They are shown holding weapons and running through what looks like 'No-Mans' land because of the barbed wire, but this adds a sense of movement and sets a kind of background to what the Exhibition will contain. In the third 'layer' of the poster within the white segment it includes information on when, where, and how to book tickets and get there. At the very bottom of the poster in the right corner you can see the Logo/emblem of the Musem so that people who are interested can identify where the Art Exhibition will be.

The colour choice for the fonts have been carefully chosen as they have been used to contrast dramatically from their background to stand out to the viewer and make the information easily readable. For example, the theme of the Exhibition, in the larger lettering is in White to stand out against the Black background.

http://www.johnkeaneart.com/index.php/welcome/cat/3 This poster is much simpler in the way that it has two layers and the first takes up nearly the entire page. The background is of a painting that is assumed to be exhibited in the Museum of War Art and the memory of those lost. Located in the top left corner of the painting it has the name of the Exhibition to let us know what it is about, but it also has the time and date of the event to inform the viewer when it will be taking place. This is very similar to that of the first one I looked at because of the colour palette. It uses white and black to dramatically contrast each other and form a Monochromatic effect but then also uses the colour of red to stand out and pull the viewers eye to it and intrigue them. It also symbolizes the blood shed from the War time.

The font has been changed throughout the Poster creating variety and making certain information of the event stand out more than others. For example the title is in a bolder but more curving font than that stating what event it is which is slightly thinner and much harsher with hits lines. Furthermore, different colours have been used for different pieces of information. The title and type of event this is has been shown to be in black making it the most prominent of the words and immediately standing out to the viewer. Other information has been displayed in white to still stand out against the white background but to also not be the most important aspect of the poster. The only writing to have been shown in red is the name of the painter whose work is being shown and his DOB/DOD

In the bottom right corner is the logo of the Museum allowing the viewers interested to know the location of the Exhibition. It is at the bottom of the poster making it stay away from all the main features, such as the painting of the background and the information of the The bottom of the page is a bright white colour to stand out to the darker colour painting on the Title, Time and Date. top. It contains the logo of the Museum, the address, ticket prices and a contact email and number.

https://www.designer-daily.com/a-collection-of-powerful-poster-designs-54857 After researching poster specifically made for Art Exhibitions I decided to look for more inspiration from other posters – like this one, made for a festival in a Museum. This design is very simple but also really effective because of the way that it uses a simple black and white photograph of the famous Audrey Hepburn. This simple image of the extremely well know actress instantly makes it more appealing to all audiences. The use of black and white also allows the layer overlapping it stand out even more. At the bottom of the poster is small white writing detailing the outlines of the company, who they are and who they work with. It also details the location, date, time and contact address and number. The logos at the very bottom of the page show the companies that join in and support the festival to enable them to also get recognition .

Over the top of the photograph is a red square with a cut out 'K' to represent the initial of the Festival Title . Below this it has the full title in a big and bold font to stand out to the viewer. Below this it has smaller writing, except not bold, which gives information into the dates it will commence, the times, one of the people who will be there and at what Museum it will be in. There isn't really any kind of logo for this poster, however, the way that the central red square has been formed makes it appear almost like a logo for the viewers to recognize if it is located anywhere else. The colour of the writing and font has been kept consistent making it all seem united and very sophisticated, especially with the added image of the stylish and glamourous Audrey Hepburn.

https://rockmassif.deviantart.com/art/Dawn-of-War-Movie-Poster-2-160945320 From looking at both Museum and Exhibition posters I have decided to again extend my research and knowledge of poster designs by looking a Poster for films and movies.

This poster is both different and similar to the previous posters I have looked at. It again uses a limited and monochromatic colour palette. This allows us as viewers to concentrate on the information given and also creates a bigger impact from the dramatically contrasting white background to the dark and black silhouettes of the soldiering figures.

At the bottom of the poster, in white writing to show up against the black background, the place the Title of the film in large, thin, writing that appears sophisticated and doesn't create a distraction from the image being shown.

At the very top of the poster within the sky of the photograph they give us an insight as to what we could expect from the film by hinting at the themes – other than war – and try to make us feel all the more intrigued by the film. It has all been shown in black to stand out against the sky and has been put in the same font as the rest of the poster to show consistency. I feel that the use silhouettes of the soldiers is really effective in the use of this poster because it creates a sense of mystery, darkness and constant draining travel. At the very, very bottom of the poster in very small writing that's slightly squished together is the 'credits' of the film. The Producers, Actors, Movie, Designers and everyone involved in the making of the film is displayed and credited here. It also has the logos and states the companies and people that have supported the making.

http://filmpulse.net/x-men-days-of-future-past-poster/ This poster is very simple but also very effective. It is for The X-Men film Days of Future Past. At the very top of the poster, in very faint and bold writing, it has the Companies name that produced the poster 'Entertainment Weekly' or also know and abbreviated as 'EW.com'. They're an American Magazine company that cover Films, Books, TV, Music and Broadway ect.

The whole focus of the poster is of the image being shown of the two actors. It gives the audience and viewers a chance to see who will be in the film and to make them feel even more interested in seeing it because they are extremely well known. Because both the film series and actors are well known there is no need to put a lot of detail on as many will already know what it's about.

One of the actors shown, Ian McKellen has been shown in a black and white. This monochromatic colour palette creates both chiaroscuro on the actor and an emphasis on the character he plays but also a dramatic contrast to the striking red cross that goes across his face. Within the red cross the actor Michael Fassbender is shown as he plays the younger version of Ian McKEllen's character –Magneto. The red makes a contrast but it also creates a defined line between the two different ages of the two characters and highlights the importance of it because the title also implies different ages. By having the two different ages in as well it also links to the very first theme I looked at about time and how it can pass by. This also links to my current theme through the topic of the film having conflict within it. The use of red creates a blast of colour and a sense of danger as it is the same colour as blood. At the very bottom in the corner it has the year it was coming out and the logo of those that supported and funded the film.

Designing my Poster The inspiration for my poster came from the X-Men poster I looked at. I created it by using Adobe Photo shop and used the Guernica painting made by Picasso. I put the image as the background and put a black rectangle diagonally across it to then make a clipping mask from it. The rectangle then became the image and the rest of the image disappeared. To enhance the horror of the image I changed the colouring of the image to red so it is more enhanced and stands out even more to the background I intend to use. I also made the red form an 'X' to link with the poster from X-Men but I changed the positioning so it was central. I also used the shape of an 'X' because it can be symbol to 'stop' and the use of it in my poster could represent the need to stop all the war and conflict happening. I then put the original painting behind so the 'X' stood out.

To make the poster look even more striking and I changed the background of the poster to 'The Third of May' by Goya. The contrast of the different paintings I feel make even more eye catching and abstract making it seem like a jumble of different wars and conflict and also shows the different styles of paintings and artists that will be displayed within the exhibition. To then further develop this I changed the Goya painting to black and white to create an even more defining line and difference between the two different paintings.

This is the end design for my Exhibition Poster. I stuck with the monochromatic background as I feel that it creates a good background to then place contrasting colour on top. I also kept the red cross displaying the painting 'Guernica' by Picasso. The two painting I have chosen to use, I feel, are very contrasting with the Goya one being more realistic and then the Picasso being more abstract and cubist. Also by having the red cross it symbolizes to me blood and a sign to try and stop all the war we have and to make us stop and think about all the conflict in the past that has now shaped our world into what it is today. I place the logo at the very bottom in the centre to be placed against a dark background for it to stand out and look more balanced. I also used an outer glow effect on it in white to make it stand out even more and make it more 'present' to the viewers. I also put the title of the Exhibition in large bold writing at the very top of the poster so that it is the very first thing anyone sees and I included a quote from a Chinese military strategist, Taoist philosopher, Sun Tzu. I used the outer glow on these as well to make them even bolder to stand out against the horror of the paintings being shown behind. I didn’t include a date, time or list of artists because I felt that it would take the attention away from the paintings in the background I made and also not all poster contain all the information, it creates a kind of mysterious effect as you won't know what will be there..

This is the final design I have made for the poster of my exhibition. I changed the shape of the red area in to a painted circle because I discovered that the circle is a symbolism of protection and I have used it to try and make it seem that we are protecting the innocent in the paintings and those who view them. Also by using this circle shape that has spread inward on the right it allows me to expose the 'Guernica' painting by Picasso much more. It enables me to show a link between the two paintings – The third of May and Guernica – as you can see two figures standing with their arms raised above their heads but also shows how, even though similar, are very different because of the different styles of art that had been made over the years. I kept the font the same and also kept the white glow behind it to make it stand out from the background more. I also included the quote again because I feel it adds a little more context and character to the purpose of the exhibition and shows how in the middle of all the fighting and conflict the artsists had the opportunity to create this remarkable work that we know celebrate and perserve today. The logo is also placed at the bottom in the centre to keep the whole of the image looking balanced and symmetrical so that it is more aesthetically pleasing to look at. I feel that using the circle rather than the solid rigid X makes it less harsh to look at and adds another layer of meaing to it as it is to show protection but also shows links and similarities betweent he paintings I have looked at and will be present within the exhibition.

Ticket intentions To understand how exhibition tickets look and work I will first of all research and analyse existing tickets which will then inspire me to create and make my own. I shll look at a variety of different tickets such as ones for museums and exhibitions, concerts, theatre and others. By doing this it will enable me to gain a even wider understanding on how tickets for different events differ and look. I shall look at the feature that are common and that are also different between the ones I analyze and look at closer (colours, layout, images, information, and appearance). All of this will in the end help me to create and make my own, realistic look ticket. When I start to design my own ticket I will think of ways to make it link in with the theme of War and Conflict I have studied as well as the colour theme and palette I used in my poster design. Just like my poster, as well, I will try different ways to lay it out and how to make the information easy to read for the ticket holder. I want the ticket to be exciting and different so that it makes the person with it feel excited and intrigued into the exhibition.

This ticket is for the museum and exhibition of Van Gogh. It has been split into two equal parts creating balance and repetition on shapes throughout the ticket. The top half looks as though it is a glimpse into what is to come as it shows the viewer works of the Artists during his life. It also in the top right hand corner has the Logo, or emblem, of the museum and organization that looks after Van Gogh's work, which makes it easily recognizable for anyone who sees it and if their logo is shown anywhere else as well. The bottom half of the ticket uses a simple and plain white background making it easier to read the black writing on the top. It has the 'name' of the ticket larger at the top so people know what it is used for and is slightly over the left to balance itself against the right hand logo. Beneath it contains other vaulable information of the dates it can be used, times, how many the ticket can enter and a barcode to be scanned when used for entry. I feel that this is a simple yet effective ticket to capture attention.

The ticket to the right is for the museum Tate Modern. It is much simpler than the Van Gogh ticket and has less mystery about it as it gives no hint of what will be in the museum at all. It has the logo of the museum at the very bottom of the right corner in a light blue, fuzzy font making it look different to the black writing giving the information. The writing showing the information is consistently in the same font making it look like it links in all together well and easily readable. It has a lot of information on, including the date, time, closure, price, reference and whether the ticket is a child, student, or adult. Based on the two tickets, I much prefer the Van Gogh as it gives less information but still enough to inform the audience; and the way that it shows a glimpse of the exhibition to come.

On the right is a ticket for the concert of Taylor Swift. The whole background of this ticket is of an image showing Taylor Swift. It uses different colours, font and sizes for the title of the concert and the information. This makes it stand out more and makes it look visually different. For the information it uses the same font, just as the others did, and uses different sizes to increase the visibility of the more important information. On the very end on the left there is a barcode to scan so the ticket can only be used once and on the opposite end there are two sections that look as though they can be torn off to emphasize the single use of the ticket

To expand my research on ticket layouts and appearances I looked a theatre and concert tickets. On the left is the ticket to see the musical production of Wicked. Similarly to the Van Gogh ticket it has a small image located on the right within a semi-circle creating colour and interest and more visual appeal to the ticket. It also allows us as viewers to see a little bit of the characters that will be shown in the production and intrigues us even more to know how the characters will be revealed. The writing on the left is again in a united in font making it easier to read and understand the information being given. It has another, thin section on the end of the ticket on the left with a dotted line down the end to signify the ripping off that end to show that the ticket has been used. I like this added feature of the ticket and feel that I could include this within my own design of a ticket to make it look more authentic. It also includes a barcode which I assume is to be scanned to again ensure that the ticket can't be used more than once and to allow access for the audience.

This is the first design for my ticket that I made. I included all the images that will be within the exhibition but I used different areas and sections of them to create diversity throughout the ticket. I also made the background black and put the images in a black and white effect with the occasional one being shown in red colouring. This makes it link in with the colour theme I had used on my poster and also makes certain elements of the images gain an emphasis with the simple yet contrasting colours. I included a barcode on the ticket because this seemed to be one element that a few of the tickets have and I feel that this adds more realism to the ticket and would allow the ticket to only be used once after it had been scanned. On the right I also added a tear of section to again ensure that the ticket could only be used once and I used red writing over the top to stay with the theme I have running through my work. I have a simple amount of information to not confuse or over whelm the ticket holder, so I have only included the things I feel are most important. I used the same font throughout so that it is all united and flows easily. However, I have used different sizes for the writing to increase the importance of certain information and to also create a kind of 'title'. I also placed my logo in the tear off section as well to show that the organisation is the one who has created the exhibition for everyone to see.

This is my final design of the ticket I will use for my exhibition. To make this ticket I simply took out, what I find, the most impacting area of the poster I made. It shows two different paintings that will be in the exhibition but I used the areas in which both have a figure with their arms in the air showing a link between the paintings even though there is year between them. On the right I created a tear off section so the ticket can only be used once and used a black background to make it link in with the dark colours in the section on the left. I also placed a barcode in the section to be scanned. Above the code I stated the price of the ticket and how many the ticket is valid for and also the dates in which the exhibition is open for. For all of this I used a white font because it stands out more and looks more professional than using the red writing in the previous. I also used the same font for this information for it to all look united, but, for the 'title' of the ticket I used a different font and a larger font size to make it look different and to stand out a little more. The logo I made is placed on both sides of the title to create balance and equality through the ticket. I have decided to use this for my final ticket design because I like the way that it uses a section of my poster which directly links them together and allows the viewer to see a direct correlation and link between the two. I also much prefer the tear off section as it is much easier to read and I feel looks more realistic and like those I analyzed.

Brochure intentions Before I start to create the brochure for my exhibition I will first research different layouts and existing guides from exhibitions and museums to then help me format my own. This will then enable me to create a more realistic and professional looking brochure to then help promote my 'Art of War' exhibition. When I design my own, I will aim to make it look exciting and intriguing for people to read but to also make it look like it links in with the theme of my exhibition and other pieces that I have already made for it – such as the elements of black and white and red to match the poster.

Museum of the Shenandoah Valley This booklet is for the 'Museum of the Shenandoah Valley' and has a very simple but elegant layout. It displays a larger photo of a piece within the exhibition on the left hand page allowing the writing to be shown on the right side of the book. It uses a much larger and 'fancy' font near the top of the page to introduce the collection and the section of the museum. Below this is goes into more detail on what the collection includes and gives brief over view of the chair image on the left and of the smaller pictures shown at the bottom of the page. Including the images, although not intercepting any writing, helps to break up the page and instantly make it more interesting and appealing to look at and read. From this brochure I really like the use of using the images to help break down the writing and to provide a link to the writing. I feel that I will incorporate this with in my own guide as it makes the guide more interesting and less overwhelming from tons of writing. It makes it more welcoming to read and that's how I want my audience to feel.

Historical Museum Messines This is the guide book for the 'Historical Museum Messines' and uses a similar format to the previous one I have looked at. It uses large images, mainly on the left side of the book, and then the writing on the right. It splits the writing up into shapes like boxes to make it much easier for the reader to process and read as well as making it much more aesthetic to see.

I like the use of images and box shapes to confine the writing into sections making it easier to read and more appealing to read and much less compact. I also like the way that some of the images intercept the writing and force the words to move around the shape. It has a simple but effective design layout that I feel I may take into consideration to use within the designing of my own brochure because it would the match the simple design layout of the actual space of my exhibition.

To the left is the front of my brochure, also my poster. I have decided to use this as my cover page as it creates a direct link between the two and will allow the people who are interested in the exhibition and come to visit it to ensure that they are at the right place. I also feel that it is quite powerful with the two different paintings being combined though the colour palette of monochrome and red. It allows the viewer to have a hint of what is to come in the exhibition, shows links between paintings years and years apart but also shows the contrast and difference of the painting styles. I also used this, not only because it was my poster, but because it had the title and the logo on already to emphasis the exhibition and its patron.

On the right is the first two pages that the viewer will see when they open the brochure exhibition guide. I used the title of the exhibition again to be a kind of introduction to the booklet and to introduce the information for the paintings. On the first page I gave general information of brochure prices, talk times, opening hours and a map to get to the place. On the second page I included events that will take place over the time that the exhibition is open. I did this as it would hopefully increase the sales, give something more interesting for the children to do and to create more festivity over the Christmas/New Year period. Along with the events I included times, dates and ticket prices to give them all the information they need.

The next two pages are introductions to the exhibition. The title is there again for emphasis and help lead on to the paragraph below. The writing includes information about how the artists have created many paintings over the years but how they have captured important and historical moments for us to view and appreciate. To allow us to have a small insight into what the conflict was really like all those years ago. It explains how artists depict Wars and fighting in different ways depending on what side of it they were, such as, Delacroix: Liberty Leading the People, is shown through heroism and honor, whereas, Picasso: Guernica is shown in utter horror and disturbance. On the left page and over lapping into the right is the painting by Goya: The Third of May. This image was shown in the poster I made and also the cover of the exhibition guide. I used this image to allow the audience to see the true painting that has not been distorted by colour At the very bottom of the right hand page there is a note to say at the bottom that the views change and photoshop manipulation. I feel this and opinions made are not made by The Remembrance Trust and are completely factual or are element makes it look more professional as well because I have seen many guide booklets that directly from the patrons of the art work. I added this as I feel it adds another layer of use this within theirs. professionalism and sophistication to my work.

For the following 4 pages of my brochure guide is and image of the paintings, in chronological order, with a small paragraph outlining some of the important details within the images and giving information about the painter, time period and art work. I used the image on the left and used it to cover a quarter of the page to that it balances itself against the writing on the right. However, I used only a small area of the paintings as an indication of which to look at because the viewer will be able to see the whole thing closer when in the exhibition. In the background behind the writing I used the large, whole,, painting in a low opacity as a background almost like the painting caries on beyond the solid and colourful edges. I consistently put the images on the left to create unity and repetition throughout the booklet to make it united and consistent. Then on the right of the pages I put the writing and information with the opaic background. I used 'Trajan Pro' font as it was simialr, but not the same, as I used for my exhibition title – also used on Events page – making it all seem linked in. For the title, artist and year of the paintings creation I used the same 'Trajan Pro' font but slightly larger and in bold to make it stand out more against the smaller description below.

On the last double pages of my booklet I have included a thank you page to all the patrons of the paintings, the artists for the amazing work they have made for us to cherish and appreciate, the exhibition space we have used, all the people who came and visited and donated or used the gift aid option as 30p goes toward the 'Preserving Trust of Art' for every £1 spent. I also used the Picasso Guernica painting above this thank you note to again, like in the first two double pages, show what the painting is like – even though this is just a section of it – is like without the colour changes and distortion of photoshop. On the right hand page I made another poster similar to the one for this exhibitions poster, but used as a coming soon, for an exhibition to come. I called it 'The Beauty of Evil' as it's similar to 'The Art of War' - finding something good in something bad. I used a painting of a skeleton in the back and then one of the Devil in the Red circle and used the same style to easily link the two posters together. I used the circle again because it is meant to represent a symbolism of protection against all evils. On the very back of the booklet I put the map of the exhibition on there so they can see the route they need to take, and what all the different rooms are. It shows the reception at the front with a desk and two computers to give access to the viewers much quicker and how it leads into the first room displaying the first and oldest piece of work and how it moves round in an anti-clockwise rotation. There are two toilets to stop queueing and also a storage room for essentials. The last and final room in the exhibition is the gift shop where they can buy anything to remember their visit. To exit the place they then have to go through the archway connecting the shop and the reception together and leave the way they came.

Exhibition intentions All exhibitions can be made and created in different ways depending on what they are displaying and trying to portray to the viewer. To come to a conclusion as to how my own exhibition with its theme and art should look I will research and analyze how other exhibitions have been formatted. This will then give me the required knowledge to start to create my own space. Before I even start to look, however, I know that I would like to remain simple but effective toward my aim of pleasing the viewer and ensuring that they remember all the horrors or rewards – however they perceive it – of War, and to also keep it simple so that it is an easy space and map to follow. This may change after I have researched and looked at different spaces and floor plans though.

This exhibition is from the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. I really like the layout of the exhibition because it looks simple, clean and elegant. The white walls allow the paintings to stand out more because they are allowed t5o be shown in their brightest and fullest beauty there is no other colour to detract away from the details. I also like the natural looking, wooden slat floor because I feel if I was to use this feature in my own exhibition it could represent the landscapes that were destroyed within all the War and fighting over the years but would also make it seem more comforting and warmer than if I was to use a concrete or marble floor. They have also included the occasional bench for the viewers to sit in and admire the work for all the detail and beauty each master piece has. From this exhibition I feel that I will use some of its features to help make mine. I will include the white walls as I feel that it enhances the colours of the paintings and will also use wooden flooring as it can relate back to the land that was ruined and also fought on but also doesn't make the whole of the exhibition feel cold. In some of the rooms I will also place benches, not in all, as I feel that it is a nice element to include within an exhibition so anyone can sit down if they're tired or want to look t painting for longer and to become amerced into the world the artist has created on the canvas.

This is a birds eye view of the exhibition I have made and I have labelled all the different areas to define the differences. I included a double door entrance way so that it is easier for visitors to enter and to make it more professional. This leads into the reception desk with two computers for people to buy tickets and brochures allowing the ques to go down quicker. To the right is an arch way leading to the start of the exhibition. It goes in chronological order of the paintings to allow the scene and styles of paintings to make more sense. It allows the viewer to see the progression of history, the different events, and the change of art styles. Half way round I included two toilets for viewers to use and I made two so that there won't be huge amounts of ques, again. In the 'Third Room' where 'Liberty Leading the People' will be displayed I placed two benches in a 'T' shape. I have done this so that people can rest, look at the painting for longer and to divide the room up a little as it is quite a large space. There is also a storage room for what most museums and exhibitions have, toiletries, extra equipment for the reception, cleaning, extra stock for the shop... I felt by adding this in it gave the space a sense of more realism. The end of the exhibition then leads to the final room of the gift shop where people can buy an array of different things to remember their visit. There is then an arch way leading back the reception for them to then exit and leave the exhibition. Within the Reception and gift shop I have also put large windows in so lots of light can enter the building but have not put any anywhere else so that the light does not damage the paintings and artworks that

The second shot below shows a higher view of the exhibition and has turned 180 degrees to view it from a different angle and to see the other paintings on walls facing away from the viewer in the previous image.

This is the first angle shot I took of my exhibition and it shows the front of the building and the rooms behind it with the added paintings in and in the section of the room they would be placed in to get a much realer sense of what the outcome would be like.

This is the third angle shot I took of my exhibition showing the entrance way of the exhibition and glimpse of the first room and the room behind which will be the gift shop. The room shows desks with chairs and computers as well as piles of brochures on the end and a large clock on the wall behind for a reception feeling.

These show the exhibition from another angle to again see the paintings on walls that haven't faced the viewer in previous shots. And the other shows 'The Third of May by Goya' close up and has been screen shot as if the viewer is in the room looking at it for a very real effect of the room and its surroundings.
