Jewellery Design
Design and Realisation project based around the industrial herritage of my hometown Bingley. For this I looked at the aire valley lines around keighley to Howorth. I found it very inspiring to visit the railway station and view traditional outfits and uniforms worn by the workers, as well as the colours and textural influences.

Pleating sample - could be used as a hem around cuffs, or hem of garment? trim along top pocket? Around collar? Inspired by the stairwell at tynemouth station and the delicate details in the iron work. Top stitching on thick mock-suede fabric. Resembles work wear styles.
Free hand embroidery inspired by the roofing style at Tynemouth rail station Top stitch around peter pan collar. I really like this effect - if used, I need to be cautious to make sewing precise and neat. Print inspired by coal stained clothing engine drivers garments
Final selected design - I was very insired to create an oversized all-in-one garment. I wanted a very masculine style so will cut this in an oversized baggy shape, with a dropped crotch. Furthermore, I will have a concealed placket on the shirt, with button details, as well as coloured top stitching and a pleated trim to match the colour scheme. All of the seams will be double stitched - to emulate the style of working garments.
