Day's Jewelers receives the Cooperate Award of Excellence at the Women's Jewelers Association Awards Ceremony in New York Corporate Award honoree Day's Jewelers is a family-owned jewelry chain with seven jewelry stores throughout Maine and New Hampshire. The company has been in business for over 100 years, and since 1988, has been owned by Jim, Kathy and Jeff Corey, with David Harris serving as president. Known for its core set of values, Day's Jewelers is a standout in the jewelry industry for its integrity, transparency, and responsible business practices and is a certified member of Responsible Jewelry Council. The company has received several honors including: the 2016 "Retailer of the Year" by the Retail Association of Maine, America's Best Jewelers recognition by National Jeweler, and the 2009 WJA Awards for Excellence Retailer of the Year. "It is my utmost pleasure to be a part of honoring such a distinguished group of individuals during the 2017 Awards for Excellence," says Brandee Dallow, WJA President. At its gala, WJA brings together industry leaders for a social evening that raises money for scholarships and grants for deserving women entering or working in our industry.

WATERVILLE This team were selling machines! with over $91,000 in sales over two days!

Guests came to enjoy Gems & Wine from around the world, with a complementary wine tasting from Uncorked Wine & Cheese. Guests received a treasure map and visited 8 stations where they learned about gemstones and got their map marked. Their final station was at the treasure chest with Hannah Duguie, Marketing Director, where they were asked gemstone trivia or had to post a photo to Facebook. They then received a key to try their luck at opening the chest valued at $800! Over 70 guests came out and over $5,000 in sales made during the hour and a half event.
TOPSHAM Congratulations to the Topsham team for setting a new store record of over $70,000, eclipsing their old record of $39,000!

J-Secure The company purchased J-Secure Plus in July which will help our Inventory department in their Quality Control process by identifying synthetic diamonds. The machine can identify synthetics for loose diamonds and mounted jewelry, including melee diamonds as small as .003ct. We had training on how to use the J-Secure at the end of the July and have been implementing our new testing process. The machine can test up to 36 pieces per scan and takes about 1-5 minutes depending on how many pieces are on the tray. The machine also allows us to print or save the results should we need to communicate to a vendor. We are very excited to be one of the few jewelers to incorporate such impressive Quality Control standards that we can pass on to our customers.
