Weddings + Engagements
CONGRATULATIONS!! You’re engaged!! You said “yes”, now it’s all about planning your big day that celebrates your love for each other. You spend so much time trying on and picking out *the dress*, flowers, decorations, music and a perfect location for your ceremony and reception that will all be a part of your day’s festivities. In order to document all your hard work in procuring these details, choosing a photographer that reflects your style is a huge deal! Time doesn’t stand still. Although a photo represents one moment, when you put all your day’s photos together, they become memories. I am the luckiest person in the world to be able to catch a spark of what you feel today and put it in a bottle for you to open anytime you want in the future. My goal is to create images for couples that don’t stand still. When you look back at these slices of your day, they will piece together like a puzzle to remind you of the larger picture. You will be able to view them like a film reel that tells the story of how you felt and relive this for years to come and share it with others. This is why I think the final product...the album, is so important. I am honored to be the one who captures the chemistry between couples and all the fun planning that comes before the celebration as well as the moments where all your closest friends and family gather to see you meet at the end of the aisle. My style has many shades, from bright colors, natural light, rustic browns and classic black and whites. I aim to create images that have a cinematic, nostalgic feel with an editorial edge. When I work with couples, I use semi-posing techniques for the planned shots (instead of sticking you in one pose, I give you tasks and fluid actions for all the planned shots). Whether you love vintage, urban/grunge, classic or modern, I love to switch up the feel, making your photos unique to you. I work with each of my couples closely to determine props and locations that will mean something to them and fit with their wedding theme. My background in Journalism has influenced my photography and has created a candid and more genuine feel. You can see the emotion on you parents’ faces as you walk down the aisle, the people who dance like no one’s watching and the moments you look into the eyes of your true love instead of a lens. Of course I will take any traditional portraits you request before the ceremony. You can count on all the details being captured as well- -the boutonnieres, flowers, your rings, the time leading up to the ceremony and key moments like the bouquet toss and cutting the cake. When the day is past, your distinct album will tell a story....your story. If you like what you are hearing so far, don’t hesitate to schedule a coffee or lunch date with me to meet in person!! I love hearing how you met, how he proposed and all your plans!:) xx

THE LADY BEHIND THE LENS Photography and design sponge. I am influenced by everyone and everything around me. I’m always on the lookout for creative ideas for photo shoots. I study pop culture religiously and collect magazines. A small town country girl. However, I’ve lived on the east coast (Gaithersburg, Maryland) and close to Chicago (Peoria, IL). A movie trivia guru. I’ve dabbled in screen writing and have a large amount of brain mass devoted to film plots, themes and characters. My favorite flicks are where comedians play serious roles (Stranger than Fiction and 23.) An explorer at heart. When I was young, my brother and I dressed up as Zorro and Indiana Jones. I love culture shock; I’ve have traveled to France, England, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Mexico and am scheduled for my first trip to Japan next May! Jeremy’s girl. We met when I was sixteen. We are a combination of left and right brain; engineer and artist. He proposed to me in the Hard Rock in Paris (One year later we went back and got the exact same waiter...what are the odds?!) Dream catcher. I wish there was an app that could save your great thoughts to a folder in your brain. Some of my best triggers for ideas are going for a run, exploring foreign places...and for some reason, taking showers (I’m seriously going to mount a white board outside the shower curtain for when I think of the perfect idea for your shoot!) Maximus’ adopted mom. Max is our golden retriever/golden doodle “puppy” and is named off the main character in the movie, Gladiator. He is constant entertainment, kisses and best friend all wrapped up in one lovable fur ball. Oldest child of four. My parents were high school sweethearts. I have two brothers and one sister who is my “10-year apart twin”. Or, that’s what people claim. (Before she was born my brothers and I would have praying wars because they wanted another brother--I am SO glad we are even with two and two! Sisters are good--Annie and I laugh at the same things.) A wanderer. Especially in Target. And, in stores like Anthropologie that have crazy beautiful window displays. When we were in Europe I became completely infatuated with the windows, designs on all the large doors, and the intricate door knockers! Cook book collector. I love trying new foods and photographing food. I can make meatloaf and all sorts of eggs...this is a good start, right?! But, that’s enough about me--I want to hear all about you. There is really nothing better than sipping on a hot or cold, caffineated beverage while simultaneously sharing stories. Well, maybe it would be better if we were also eating cookie dough.

Do you travel and shoot destination weddings? I *LOVE* to travel. If your wedding is outside the Lincoln/Omaha or surrounding area, contact me and we’ll make it happen!
We love the candid images, but do you also offer traditional pictures? Of course! During our consultation, we’ll plan out the day and make sure your schedule provides enough time for the various activities that will occur. Traditional shots are usually taken before the ceremony and last 30 minutes to an hour based on how many people are involved.
Do you have recommendations for other vendors? Yes! I have worked with several other vendors and have some great recommendations if you are still looking for cakes, music, flowers, a videographer or need advice about any part of your day. I love to work closely with brides, moms, personal attendants and planners. Before your day, I’ll have you fill out an information sheet that will allow me to visit all locations, plan lighting and make arrangements with your other vendors if need be.
