ESN-u 1.0 The project is an environmental survey facility that functions with precise strategies based on bespoke masterplans of operations and consequent field recordings. Based in Bewdley, a town at the edge of England’s largest contiguous area of ancient woodland, ESN-u 1.0 has initiated the monitoring of the surrounding environment through devices such as Eddy Covariance instruments, Ceilometers and ECHIDNA Lidar. Each device has varying proximities to the unit as well as different applications. The unit’s modular construction system allows it to change locations and size according to the research. The lattice structure is configured to maximise the floor area and provide wide panoramic views to the landscape being surveyed.

Lisbon
The Gate of Lisbon_____________________________
Towns exist for interaction. They depend upon movement systems such as roads, streets, footpaths and public transport routes. For places to be well-used and well-loved, they must be safe, comfortable, varied and attractive. They also need to be distinctive, and offer variety, choice and fun. Vibrant places offer opportunities for meeting people, playing in the street and watching the world go by. The new intervention propose a new transportation hub that will be a place for interaction and exchange between the locals and the foreigners in Lisbon. Placing a bridge above the train station will have three purposes:

Program and form finding 1 - Metro underground circulation 2 - pedestrians circulation 3 - highway circulation (vehicles) 4 - train lines 5 - building views 6 - connecting ramp to the waterfront 7 - Restaurants views Urban Stitching The bridge will act as an urban stitch that will connect the river to the old parish of Alfama. Due to the mass tourism problem the market constantly growing and becoming busier every year, the bridge will provide a space for the Feira da Ladra (the flea market) to grow organically towards the waterfront area.
Design process
Respecting the Identity of the place This intervention creates a generous walking platform space that allows the passage and permanence of its users, as well as maintaining the relationship between the pre-existing buildings in its context. Transportation hub The new infrastructure will create a connection between the multi points of arrival to the city from different parts of the world.
Waterfront Urban regeneration It will Regenerate the waterfront area using culture led regeneration and attractive spaces which will enhance the connection between the city and its river. Connecting between people More importantly the intervention will give something back to the city, by bringing people together under the same roof, while it provides a social interactive platform that will allow new possible connections between the locals and visitors to happen.

Under bridge platform As part of redeveloping the waterfront, the space under the bridge will be used as a platform that provides for the ground level an extension for different activities such as the ground level with sitting areas to allow activities to happen.
23
Access from Alfama (existing market) the access will be an extension of the road, and will allow the market to grow towards the water front.
Beirut
Beirut: rebuilding a fragile city The project focuses on the area of El Maslakh In Beirut which was affected badly from the blast event that happened on the 4th of August 2020 at the port. This thesis focus on the planning and rebuilding from the rubble of Beirut using glass as a sustainable recyclable material.

Modular construction 1. Placing four pieces of floor together 2. Placement of Pile foundations in the middle of each floor plate 3. Collecting the fibreglass curved pieces to the foundation. 4. Placing all four pieces together to create a shell structure 5. Placing the floor as a cap on to of the shell structure 6-7. Applying the same process on top 8. Removing the edges

Structural analysis Double curved analysis Through the application of a grasshopper curvature analysis script, it shows that the weakest vulnerable parts are close to the middle of the double-curved surface on the top part which is resembled with red colour on the diagram and green colour for the stronger parts of the saddle form geometry. Therefore further structural support needs to be applied to the red coloured areas to support the shape from breaking and collapsing.
Fibreglass
Hyperbolic Paraboloids resemble the shape of a saddle formed by the combination of concave and convex surfaces. The geometry of the modular parts are double curved surfaces with negative Gaussian curvature. Along with being aesthetically dynamic, it has also been proven to be structurally efficient due to the capacity to cover long spans without intermediate supports.
