The new collections consisted of the Changing Fa c e s , Casual F r i d a y, Leila, Fanta s y , a K i d s r a n g e , t he new technica l l y d e v e l o p e d F l e x f it and of cours e a n o t h e r e y e c a t c h er that drew lots of a t t e n t i o n. Nobody expec t e d a n y t h i n g l e s s f r om Hans Boodt M a n n e q u i n s ; R o b o t i c s engineering t o o k t h e i r p r e s e n t a t i o n to a whole n e w l e v e l . The Hans Boo d t t e a m , y e t a g a i n f o r the 3rd time , s e t u p t h e s t a n d in a way that w a s t o o i r r e s i s t i b le to pass by. T h e e n t r a n c e , w i th a 3 step st a i r c a s e c o u l d o n l y b e entered afte r g a z i n g i n a w e a t t h e 2 large win d o w s o n e i t h e r s i d e. The new catalog and newspaper were also available at the Hans Boodt stand. Our viewmaster retro gadget giveaway made many visitors go ‘ooooh’ and ‘aaaaah’, taking them back to their childhood. The slide inside was a 3D picture presentation of the collections including a Thank You note. A coffee bar with barista, Hans Boodt DJs playing music everyday at 16.00 hours, the whole team dressed in crisp white shirts with dark blue raw denim aprons created the atmosphere of Hans Boodt Mannequins. The end result was a more than expected number of visitors, new leads for business, lots of meets & greets with current customers.

REPETITION Somehow visual repetition can be very fascinating to the eye. Repetition is already quite noticeable when only three mannequins are used. Adding even one more will certainly enhance this concept. Employing repetition creates such a high intensity that it is incomparable to any other method of presentation. Even though this concept has been used before, it will be mind-blowing every single time: it’s Eye Candy.

CREATING CHARACTERS
Creating Characters is what we do best. After weeks and sometimes months o f preparation, market research, the resources of our imagination a nd careful focusing on the end result, Hans Boodt captures this c reation process in words, images, mood boards and technical specific ations to create a briefing for Hans Boodt Studio. For every new mannequin developed, our design team first makes a clay model. This hands-on, clay mo delling process becomes a 3D sketchpad of sorts, and can be ada pted modified or completely transformed. Only after testing and refining th e last minute details, the clay model will be used to create the m ould from which the mannequin will be born.

Mannequins come to life at Hans Boodt Mannequins. We understand the fashion industry and the constant need for progression and originality. The company always uses a human model for the development of a mannequin. A ‘made-up’ mannequin can never look the way it should or as intended.

I t is th is h ig h q u a lity of d e ta il, d e s ig n , c ra f t a n d f in is h in g , w h ic h w ill b r in g th e mo d e ls to life w ith wa r mth a n d a llu re.
In a mannequin, all the personality that is commonly expressed through gestures must be translated into an unyielding form. On the other hand, the abstract models must communicate without those familiar visual expressions; gone are the eyes and other facial features. Instead, the mannequins are embodied with finely imagined and carefully manufactured gestures, poses and attitude: the width of a shoulder or an in-turned toe. Once the full form has been moulded, the finishing touches are applied. This involves our brand’s specialists who determine the ideal aesthetic for make-up and skin, high gloss, matt, sanded, ribbed, aluminium look, covered with paper or the appearance of wood, almost anything is possible. Make up samples are then sent to the factory, where they are applied to the mannequins’ faces. It is this high quality detail, design, craft and finishing that will ultimately bring the models to life with warmth and allure.

YOUNG TALENT REIN REITSMA. During a school biology class, the weird human skeleton, with its clumsy posture and puzzled glance, was always able to distract me. Now that is exactly what has inspired me to design “Knaapje”©, a personalised mannequin.

“KNAAPJE” So I’ve always wanted to own such a biology skeleton! T h e n I r e a l i s e d t h a t t h i s w a s a p r o j e c t i n i ts o w n right, designing a life-sized human skeleton. A p a r t f r o m t h e f a c t t h a t t h e s k e l e t o n r e a l l y g ra b b e d my attention, I also imagined using it as a coat rack or display because it has so many bones.
