Solution: The design takes on the transformation of the lifecycle of a butterfly. Using the datum as a negative plane the butterfly transforming out of the cocoon.

Bowling Green State University Second Year Studio Spring 2013 House for Thomas Edison Task: Studying the achievments of a famous individual and design a house that expresses their accomplishments.
Solution: Using natural light to create areas of darkness and light, the house reflects upon Edison’s invention of the incandescent light bulb.
Being the trial and error inventor that Edison was, the cut outs in the roof symbolize this process. The circular skylight that is placed over the lab represents the culmination of this process.
In elevation the story of light is portrayed with the amount of light let in. Along the facades, the walls open up letting in more light.
Bowling Green State University Fourth year Studio Spring 2014 BGSU Campus McFall Facade Wrap Task: Interior renovation and facade wrap of the first library on campus. Currently the building is used for admissions and the office of the President. As such, the building becomes the first entry point to the University for perspective students.
Solution: Studying the natural history of the area and the history of the building. The site created off of Wooster Street is dug into the ground representing the Black Swamp, but is represented as a peaceful japanese style garden. The addition to the South facade becomes the new entry into campus, connecting the swamp to the traditions quad on campus.

Study of the axis and how Pei changes the line of axis, helps develop the new entry axis that connects the natural history of Bowling Green to the traditions quad on campus.

Bowling Green State University Individual Study Spring 2014 Nicosia, Cyprus Steel Competition Task: Create a border crossing between two countries using steel as the primary building material.
Solution: Realizing the Turkish/Greek border as an opened wound that divides cyprus, the design intends to stitch and mend the wound of the seperation and bring Cyprus back as one island.
Indicating the original bond of the island, a double canopy is used to shade and cool the border. A tower becomes the binding element of the two canopies and delineates the border crossing

Bowling Green State University Fourth Year Studio Fall 2014 Toledo, Ohio Riverfront Task: The riverfront was once the datum that linked the East and West sides of Toledo. As time passed the river would became a barrier that would seperate the city.
Solution: In collaboration with University of Toledo’s School of Urban Design, an urban intervention is created to create a strong symbolic connection between East and West.
Upon studying the industry of Toledo,an allegory of industry is created showing two paths for the future, an unsure future (followed future), and a new idea for future (Towards Future).

Lock 27 Brewery (Centerville, Ohio) Interior Renovation of an existing tennant space for a new micro-brewery: The projesct was a interior renovation of an existing tennant space. The Project asked for a set of plans to help provide a layout for the owner.
