Introduction Shift into Sports gains momentum with Royal Mail Group Welcome to the latest edition of the FIA/IOU Supplier Directory. I hope you have taken advantage of the fantastic savings offered by the FIA Supplier members. Feedback from independent operators has been positive and shows that the directory is helping to direct them to best offers available to ensure they can keep costs to a minimum but still receive the quality products that they are looking for. However this is not the only benefit from being an FIA/IOU member and I urge you to call a member of the team and discuss how we can ensure you get the full benefits of membership. Shift into Sports (SIS) has successfully launched across the UK with Royal Mail Group. The first wave of promotion by Royal Mail Group to their employees occurred in late April and saw a rush of registrations to the website.
With over 150 FIA/IOU members involved in the programme they will benefit from the marketing and promotion over the forthcoming months.

“It can be difficult for people that aren’t on traditional nine to five shifts to get to gyms,” says Royal Mail Group occupational health manager Stephen Weston. “SIS will make it easier for those on late or night shifts to live healthier lifestyles by offering affordable sports sessions.” It’s not too late to be involved with an offer for SIS due to the continued promotion of the programme to Royal Mail Group staff. Don’t forget this is a continuous program and over the next few months there will be at least two more corporations joining SIS and promoting it to their employees, creating a prospect pool of nearly half a million shift workers across the UK.

Welcome to the third edition of the FIA/IOU supplier directory Feedback is the breakfast of champions. It makes sure that we are on track with our objectives and then enables us to realign our goals and path moving forward. So here we are after three issues of the FIA/IOU Supplier Directory and it’s a time for us to ask you – the club owner – what can be done to improve this service to you? The whole point of the FIA/IOU Supplier Directory is to give a voice to independent operator and most importantly to add value to your FIA membership. So are we hitting the mark? As a club owner myself, I know that if value outweighs cost, then it makes sense. Is this making sense?

More specifically, and even though it’s delivered for free – are you getting the type of discounts and incentives from the suppliers that are committed to supporting you? Are there any particular suppliers or discounts that you would like to see more of? Are the suppliers sticking to their promises? Whatever it is – let us know. As I’ve said, feedback is the breakfast of champions. So let’s continue to make the FIA/IOU a champion non-profit organisation that adds real value to your independent health club.
