RESEARCH & PROJECT FRAMING LOCATION Salford Museum and Art Gallery is situated in the heart of Salford and close to the Manchester City Centre. It is located in Peel part next to the University of Salford on the Crescent. As the location of Salford Museum and Art Gallery is within the University ground, there is a large foot traffic from students which pass everyday. As well as other pedestrians, car and bus and train users. ADDRESS: PEEL PARK, THE CRESCENT,

EXISTING INTERIOR

USER EXPERIENCE 8-9 Hours duration, full day occupancy stimulating, attractive and comfortable daily arrival and departure evening staff; 7-8 hours duration Adults, children, arrival experience, waiting, greeting, easy access and circulation Daily cleaning & servicing easily accessible for cleaning & maintaining

DESIGN INTERPRETATION RECONFIGURATION OF SITE

RECOURCES • Local Contractors And Materials. • Materials are recyclable and renewable. • Low embedded, energy profile, FCS approved, green specification SITE PREPERATION • Removal of existing dining facilities, reception, storage and staircase/Mezzanine OFF SITE PREPARATION • Modular construction of bar, reception desk and shop stands

SOPHISTICATED DINING EXPERIENCE - Victorian elements within lighting, colour scheme, furnishings. - Taking the design into the 20th century with modern adaptions - Linking with Peel park taking a natural forms and flowing circulation throughout the building leading to the museum areas. - Open plan making use of all natural daylight.

SITE INSTALLATION • Installation of all additional seating, tables lighting etc… LOW ENERGY RUNNING COSTS

DISMATEL • Modular components can be dismantled. Materials are all recyclable which will be put into already set recycling program

Open Plan Dining Experience

LIGHTING

Day Light Hours - There will be a natural, crisp feel to the shape.

Evening - This will become more intimate with dimmed lighting. 
 Front entrance will become the first visual impact with large victorian influenced lighting and new floating staircase. Incorporated with booted waiting/seating area.
 COLOUR SCHEME
 This influenced for the Victorian Era using a rich signature colour to contrast with natural colours and materials. New back entrance into main bar area to entice the foot traffic from the university and potential outdoor seating area giving views to Peel Park.
