Gustav and Henri: Volume #1 author Andy Matthews • illustrator Peader Thomas

JUNIOR FICTION

Opposites attract in this humorous graphic novel series about best friends Gustav and Henri. Gustav is a goofy, optimistic and naively enthusiastic pig. Henri is a grounded, pragmatic and quietly sceptical dog. They are as drawn to each other as they are to the weird and ridiculous. Which is a lot. Whether it’s venturing into space to find a lost shuttlecock, or shrinking to the size of microbes to fight a cold, Gustav and Henri are always up for a madcap adventure, so long as they have each other. With the visual appeal of Narwhal and Jelly, the irresistible humour of Dog Man and the value of Real Pigeons (with three stories in one volume), this is the perfect series for kids who love comics and funny stories.

Barkly Mansion and the Weirdest Guest author Melissa Keil • illustrator Adele K Thomas

JUNIOR FICTION

An adorably funny series about a slightly odd house that’s turned upside down when a new friend comes to stay. There is absolutely NOTHING weird about Cookie, Kyle, Fizzy and Lady Delilah – until the day a gorilla named Edmund comes to live with them. Then things do start to get a little weird … In this sweet, goofy new series for kids aged 6+, four loveable friends will learn to get along with the strangest creature they’ve ever met, and discover that sometimes you can get what you want without barking like crazy.

This is the Big Room in the house on Sullivan Street. At this moment, normal Tuesday-morning things are going on in here:

Packed full of mischief, mayhem and wordplay, every book features three fish-out-of-water episodes about this loveable canine crew – and their new friend, Edmund.

Cookie is planning another adventure with Maureen. Today, they are excited about hiking up Three Meatball Hill. Kyle is eating a fancy cheesy snack, and practising croquet.

Lady Delilah is patrolling.

Happily Ever Afterwards: A Tale From A Taller Forest MIDDLE-GRADE

author Shaun Micallef • illustrator Paula Bossio Smart, satirical and deliciously silly! In the much-anticipated follow-up to Shaun Micallef’s award-winning Tales from a Tall Forest, the Queen of Tancred and her royal retinue are on a mission: to ensure all the citizens of Tancred are happy. But that’s a lot harder than it sounds - especially when the Happiness Tour accidentally stumbles into the neighbouring region of Hamelin. Oops. Soon, Queen Mathilde smells a rat. A whole kingdom of them, in fact … because Hamelin has been overrun with rodents. Why is a rat on the throne? Where are all of Hamelin’s children? And what is happiness anyway? The answers - presented in Micallef’s signature fairytale-twisting style - will surprise you! Happily Ever Afterward With a final wave to her cheering courtiers, she stepped into the Royal Wagon and took her seat between an excited Gretel and Hansel, who were both blowing kisses to the crowd.

Because dragons can cover vast distances with little effort, they are found on every continent – including Antarctica! A few species migrate regularly, just as birds do, looking for food.

One ancient historian described how dragons from the Horn of Africa used to swim every year across the Red Sea to their feeding grounds on the Arabian Peninsula.

Welcome to future Earth. Our oceans have become polluted to such an extent that all marine life is now just a memory. Welcome to the world of Aquatica.
