LETTER from the PRESIDENT
T
he apostle Paul reminded
his readers in Rome to “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer” (Romans 12:12). I can think of no better admonition for Harding Academy as we look at the many wonderful blessings, difficult challenges, and continued dreams for our future. I am thankful for the numerous ways that the Lord reminds us of his presence, provision, and faithfulness. It is evident that our continued success and ability to overcome numerous obstacles have been possible only because of the commitment and generosity of so many people. The kind of sacrificial giving that we receive is remarkable, and we are sincerely grateful for the overwhelming support of our mission. Through the generous donations of parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends of Harding, we can honestly say that the Lord has provided and will continue to provide. The 2014–15 year gave us countless reasons to be joyful in hope. As you will see throughout this publication, our students continue to shine through numerous accomplishments and victories. Our incredibly dedicated faculty and staff push our students to think critically, display integrity, and live courageously to the glory of God. Our students, through success and failure, wrestle with difficult questions and develop deep understandings of important concepts and leadership skills. Our greatest joy, however, is to see them grow into living examples of sacrifice, service, and faithfulness to Christ. Numerous times throughout the last year, affliction has tested our patience. We endured significant flooding of our auditorium and classrooms that forced us to have chapel in the gym. In the midst of these trials, however,
the strength of our community was never more evident. The Lord definitely gave us a spirit of patience, and our entire school community endured a variety of challenges throughout the year with incredible grace and dignity. As we look to the future we ask that you continue to join us in being faithful in prayer. The vision for the future of Harding Academy is built upon a foundation of faith that is firmly rooted in prayer. We respect and appreciate the sacrifice of the past while looking forward with great anticipation for God’s continued provision. We are eternally grateful for those who have sacrificially given to ensure that our school thrives as we continue to grow and improve. I am happy to highlight this kind of sacrifice in our annual report. I pray that all of our contributors will be honored for their sacrifice and that their sacrificial giving will encourage others to give in the future. Your continued generosity will be the key to our success. Please prayerfully consider a financial gift that will enable us to prosper. The future of Harding Academy is very bright, and I am certain that the Lord will continue to bless us with His provision. In Christ,
Trent D. Williamson President

The Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees provides financial oversight, and a CPA firm performs an audit of the financial statements each year. Monitoring systems are in place to ensure resources are used as intended. Harding works with trusted advisors to optimize investment, insurance, employee benefits, and financial decisionmaking. The school benchmarks its tuition and compensation to ensure that it is competitive and able to provide the quality of personnel, facilities, and programs to meet the educational needs of our students.
