ARTS & HUMANITIES Sparking creative expression
The College of Arts and Humanities — seven departments with more than 40 majors and 35 minors — has been part of our story since the University’s beginning in 1924. Our mission is to train, nurture and equip graduates to be agile, decisive thinkers skilled in evaluation, reflection and problem-solving. Any program of study within the humanities will help you establish a foundation and understanding of human perceptions and emotions. With art and design, you can illustrate through ideas and observations, animate innermost thoughts and bring the extraordinary to life. Communication teaches you how to articulate thought, connecting the world with the individual and declaring who you are and what you might become. English, music and foreign language allow you to explore cultures through stories and song and communicate through many forms of expression. Learn about and find your place in history. These stories come to life with theatre, where you recount noble adventures and far-fetched dreams. The humanities spark notions and visions, write the text of life, and give voice to the heart. We all have a place in the humanities — come find yours! Find more information at
