Merida Italia Team won Internazionali d’Italia Series 2014!

Great satisfaction for theTeam, that have caught a great result in the last stage of the challenge, at Volpago del Montello.

Six hard races hosted across Northern Italy, for a challenge that has made the story of the mountainbike in Italy, especially in the queen category of mtb: Cross Country Olympic. The success was the most important goal for Merida Italia Team and for its riders, and is the right payback for all the work and the efforts made.

The final stage hosted on the nice track of Volpago del Montello, near Treviso, saw the victory of the eternal Miguel Martinez, but the Champion of Estonia, Martin Loo, have finished in sixth place.

In the U23 race the athletes of the team have literally dominated. Stefano Valdrighi in first position, Gioele Bertolini second, and Lorenzo Samparisi third. Withdrawal unfortunately for Mattia Setti, due to a puncture away from the technical zone.

The Juniores race was Moreno Pellizzon to dominate, with a distinct advantage over the Russian Arsenty Vavilov, who starred in Chies d'Alpago stage. Alessandro Naspi have always run at high levels since the beginning of March, so in this stage was a little tired and closed in 5th position.

A big applause to the organizers of the race, who masterfully set up a high-level event in every detail, though the race times were lengthened compared to the usual situation.

After the last stage Merida Italia Team brings home two leader's jerseys of individual classifications. Alessandro Naspi took the victory between the Juniores and Gioele Bertolini in the U23s, but it is the victory in the special team ranking that gives more satisfaction to the staff, who sees return the result of efforts by a major group.

Now the team can afford to make the last part of the season with due serenity, thanks to these brilliant results.
