Merida Italia Team, nice performances in Canada The DS Domingo Copelli managed a complex and expensive transfer with the support of the mechanics Gian Luigi Prevedini and Francesco Niccoli. They have conducted the four U23 Lorenzo Samparisi, Stefano Valdrighi, Mattia Setti, Gioele Bertolini and the Elite Martin Loo, in Mont Sainte Anne (Canada) to take part to the #5 round of the UCI MTB World Cup. All the guys have lived with enthusiasm the trip to one of the temples of XC world, showing gratitude to the team that gives them valuable opportunities.

The races of the riders of the Team went pretty well. All five athletes arrived at the finish line, pulling out positive performances. Lorenzo Samparisi and Gioele Bertolini have raced recovery postions for all 6 laps of the race, closing respectively 16th and 17th between the


Under23. Stefano Valdrighi started a little bit better than his mates, but was the victim of a harmless fall at half of the race, that saw him lose a bit of time, but thanks to an excellent final, however, closed in points zone (25th). Mattia Setti started really better than all of his teammates, clocking top 20 lap times during first laps. During the middle phase of the race his lap times have got up,but He's been good however, to drive well and manage his forces at his best until the end (26th). Overall performance have satisfied team staff and are bode well for the future. In the elite race Martin Loo started with a high number. He have ran like a diesel engine, climbing position on position during the entire race. The shape has appeared in growth, and Martin raced carefully managing well the really technical trail, especially in the last two rounds, with a clear track, He clocked good times going to close at 31th place finish. For Martin there is another chance next week during the sixth round of the World Cup in Windham (USA): another opportunity to climb the ranking: Meanwhile the youth part of the Team is return in Italy with direct transfer to Livigno: Mattia in configuration "Merida Italia Team" in order to improve his shape for the last round of the World Cup, while his teammates are involved to the convening of the National Team that selected them for the withdrawal premondiale.
