DID YOU KNOW THAT

ALBERT EINSTEIN

ALMOST BECAME…

THE SECOND

PRESIDENT

OF ISREAL

IN 1952, BUT REFUSED IT!

Sometimes, even the smartest among us cannot be the master of it all—Albert Einstein refused the presidency of Israel stating that he had no head for problems! (It might seem odd to note that Einstein, while being the greatest physicist ever known, was terrible at math!)

As parents, for several years now, we have stuck to looking at world history like a great mine of dates and boring facts, fearing its vastness and, eventually, looking at other venues to amuse our kids and enrich their knowledge. Our history is an important segment in the cultivation of the ideologies of independence, governance, culture and social sciences in young minds. By avoiding, or showing very little importance to world history, we might easily be just creating whole new generations of socially and culturally stigmied individuals.

How can we change this? The Chroniclers Challenge for the middle schoolers of USA is just about the right opportunity for your kid to learn all about the fascinating history of the world.

Currently, the majority of the United States citizens can trace their roots outside of European, Native American or Mexican origins. A platform to study integrated World History is the best way to acquaint ourselves and our children to this new, multicultural era that we are growing into, and make them realize that cultural traditions aren’t exotic rituals practiced within four walls of their homes, but real, tangible pieces of history—our history. World history is so vast and so full of details, that sometimes you just miss the funny parts if you don’t look at it in a new perspective. In fact, what might seem boring and looooong can actually be interesting if you just thought about it in a different way!

Funnily enough—

NAPOLEON

BONAPARTE,

THE FRENCH RULER, DESIGNED THE

NATIONAL

FLAG OF ITALY. HE USED THE FRENCH TRICOLOR FLAG AS HIS INSPIRATION, BUT REPLACED BLUE WITH GREEN, BECAUSE GREEN WAS HIS FAVORITE COLOR.

Napoleon Bonaparte was also attacked by a mob of rabbits in a rabbit hunt he had organized. He and his men lost the battle to the bunnies, which is historically the first battle he lost, nearly 8 years before his famous Waterloo defeat.

There was also this one time when–

ADOLF HITLER &

WHO WERE JOINTLY RESPON

40 MILLION PEOPLE, WERE B

NOBEL PEA

There are several hidden pockets in even what we know about, and every single day we discover more and more of what was really buried in the annals of yesterday. To an adult, there are few things in the world that can shock us—but nothing more than knowing about some parts of history that we never knew existed! Should we not strive to soften this shock for the next educated generation, i.e., your kids and their kids in the future?

JOSEPH STALIN,

NSIBLE FOR THE DEATHS OF

BOTH NOMINATED FOR THE

ACE PRIZE

Hitler was nominated for the prize by E. C. G. Brandt, a Swedish parliament member, in 1939 (the year that Hitler actually started World War II in) to play a practical joke on the British Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain. Stalin, on the other hand, was genuinely nominated twice for trying to end World War II, though his methods were to shoot every standing man down.

Talking of prizes…

PAINTING

WAS ACTUALLY CONDUCTED AS

AN OLYMPIC GAME

EVENT FROM 1912–1948,

TO ENCOURAGE THE WEDLOCK OF

‘MUSCLE

AND MIND’ It had to be stopped in 1949 because all participants who enrolled in the competition were professional painters, and at that time, only amateurs were allowed to participate in the Olympics. Also, because it was the time of both World Wars, the participants needed to be non-soldiers—which was nearly impossible!

Is history only about war and peace? Just like how we call ourselves multi-faceted, history, too, has a million mirror reflections—perhaps, it is time to revamp that image of historical studies as a dry mountain of dreary and macabre information. Histories of Sport, Science and Art has always been considered both factually fascinating and trully useful for a growing generation. These are the layers of history that we use in our lives to build a future that has corrected mistakes of the past; these are the factions of knowledge that we subconsciously use to showcase our smartness and the type of trivia that is more intellectually stimulating than the number of years fought in the Hundred Year War. And, logically, this is the kind of history we want our future world to remember. From here, dear parent, there is only one more step to take‌

... And that is to enroll your kid in the upcoming Chroniclers Challenge program: six whole weeks of school-based coaching, three rounds of exciting games. and an ultimate challenge that wins extravagant prizes and trips to historical and heritage sites around the world!
