HISTORY • Circumferential Road 6 is part of Build Build

Build infrastrature program of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.

• C-6 in Taguig was built in 2009 along the shore of the Laguna de Bay. It is a two-lane road • Runs for approximately 7 kilometers (4.3 mi)


HISTORY • The road project was approved in 2002 as the Taguig Road Dike intended to run for 9.8 kilometres (6.1 mi) from the South Luzon Expressway towards Rizal and also to serve as a flood control for the city.


HISTORY Groundbreaking ceremony of the project was held on January 8, 2018.

FEATURES OF ROAD C-6 • WIDTH = 3.6m • Carriageway lanes = 6 lanes (2 x 3) • Design speed expressway = 80 kph

AASHTO APPROVED • Rampway design speed = 40 kph • Number of ramps = 28


FEATURES OF ROAD C-6 • It will pass to the cities/municipalities of Taguig, Taytay, Antipolo, San Mateo Rizal, and Quezon City.

• The DPWH also constructed 2m wide planting strips, a 3m wide bike lane and 1.5m wide side walk.

• Engineer Norberto Conti, SMC Infrastructure Technical head, said that based on studies, the future C6 Road can accommodate an average of 80,000 vehicles daily. But he believes this circumferential road project can take more considering the present situation.

WHY C-6 EXPRESSWAY DEVELOPED

BECAUSE

it will act as beltway of Metro Manila, so that buses and other transportation vehicles coming from the southern provinces to northern provinces (and vice versa) will not need to pass through Metro Manila, thus lessening traffic in Metropolis

Ø It will serve as the shortcut, from 1 and half hour to 30 mins drive Ø It was built as a road dike protecting the road from floods

Ø The citizens who were affected by the construction will be relocated under the right way of law.
