Branding

My portfolio consists of a collection of different pieces that I have created over the years while doing graphics design at A-Level. Throughout the course I have had many different influences from a range of graphics designers and current products.

CONTENTS

Restaurant Branding: For my AS work my brief was to create a branding for my own restaurant. I explored a range of cuisines during my research stage but I decided to go forward with an Indian restaurant brand called ‘Herbs & Spices’.

This page consists of the front and back design of a menu, logo and images that I used throughout the project. The premade brushes have been downloaded from the internet or taken from Photoshop, where I have then put the patterns together to form an overall design. The images have been self taken and then edited in Photoshop to add effect.

Events Management Branding: For my A2 branding project I designed a branding for my own events company. I designed these products by using downloaded brushes and other photo shop techniques. I explored a range of different designs before I came to the final products. The designs have been based on henna patterns, a body art which is often worn by individuals during a wedding.

A2 ExamEvolution: My theme for my last exam was based around evolution. The exam board gave us the word evolution to focus on and the final end idea did not have to focus on evolution itself. I chose TFL as my client and used typography to advertise TFL to tourists that come to London.

During my development I came up with a range of different ideas and explored a range of artists. However one graphics designer in particular that I focused on was Kelly Thorn. Her work consisted of making her own images and displaying them around a centred title that would explain a particular destination. I was influenced by the work of Kelly Thorn and the TFL underground map to create the poster above. I designed each building from scratch using the shapes on Adobe Photoshop and any self taken images to recreate the buildings. I also included any necessary logos and details needed to finish off the poster.

A2 ExamEvolution: Piece two.

This was my second piece that I created in the exam. The poster was influenced from some styles of typography I found on the internet. Please see the first few pages of my exam tumblr (http://harpreetahadia2exam.tumblr.com/) to see the influences and development of this poster. The influences consist of one style creating buildings out of words and the second style uses silhouettes of buildings. I added in downloaded brush marks which I created a background off and used the shapes on Adobe Photoshop to create the other aspects such as the busses and buildings.
