MOTIVES I am looking for a position that gives me the opportunity to increase my awareness and knowledge for interior architecture. Also working with like-minded employees who value in the brand and product. I am also willing to learn and share from my colleagues to expand my talents. I have familiarity in taking on multiple jobs, and blossom in communication.

The vision for this interior was to be a largely emotive space whilst still boasting sophistication.
Using metallic golds and brass as an accent material, this office space is ideal for the mature individual who needs that spark of creativity.

A
fashion show to mark on his history of textiles and fashion, although his attempt to sway from it. An experimentation of silhouettes, lightness and darkness which are elements that are iconic in Man Ray’s famous Rayographs.
MAN RAY FASHION SHOW With the transparent and translucent walls, the audience have the chance to experience a 3 dimensional Rayograph as you can see the movement of shadows. Contrasting was very important for this project.

his was a side project to find other ways of using deconstruction as a method to create unique experiences and spaces. In a related essay, I discussed deconstruction for an approach - as it corresponded with my brief.
THE UNBOXING PAVILION The deconstruction movement was in further depth, noting its history, including examples from a variety of media. The brief asked to create voids - this could be done to buildings, structures or objects. Removal is all that is allowed. The aim is to use demolition, deconstruction or subtration as an act of creativity and not scrap.

T
he brief is to design a memorial and counselling space for grieved individuals. The main causes for these losses are water related, for example drowning and over consumption of fluid.
RESTORATION FOR BRIDGE END Bridge End is aligned with River Aire and is a great site to have this function as they can become accustomed to water and prevent vicious flashbacks and triggering.
T
his narrative for this project is enthused by the psychological film ‘Don’t Look Now’, directed by Nicolas Roeg which has some traumatic scenes of death.
Roeg uses many techniques to express the fine line between paranormal and reality and uses images of flash backs, broken glass, water, blood and reflections.
The film itself has to have some connection or relation to the site so it can generate the purpose of the site’s renovation.
On right shows the development of the site combine model, demonstrating the conditions of the site and how rapidly it changes within certain areas. The shape of the building was manipulated by the curves of the road, which sparked inspiration for reciprocal forms to create the structure.

he interior was inspired by the 5 stages of grief, so as the visitors pass through the spaces they get to vent these grievances.
The aim of this is whilst the bereaved go to these counselling sessions they can familiarise themselves finding tranquillity and peace,then preparing themselves for what experiences reality can bring.

e interior uses water and light e atmosphere of these spaces.
S
itting Pretty was a project of an old betting Tote to be rennovated at the Catterick Race course, North Yorkshire. The brief was to feature a work-live scenario that also compliments the racecourse.
In this scenario, the Tote will provide a saddle making workshop, temporary accommodation and exhibition space. Having flexibility of being a private or public space, the idea is to change the mind-set for work based environments.
SITTING PRETTY This is significant because more people are working and moving, finding difficulty to truly switch off. The proposal is to adapt a workspace into a leisureliness format.
The method of the stairs arches breaking off visualises us freeing ourselves from restrictions, which links with the purpose of the Tote.

he concept is driven from the stirrup and how they support the jockey when racing, therefore in development I have focused on the suspension of the stirrup.
Looking at how the foot goes through the stirrup, I represented this by creating arches that the users will walk through. Suspending elements of the building references the stirrup that suspends the jockey from the saddle.
Steel was an existing element found on site but also has a connection by being the most common material on the stirrup.

STAIRCASE DESIGN
T
he theme around the staircase was using rhythmic patterns to articulate perceptions of movement - ideas started to develop personality through a selected range of materials, including timber and glass with help of some precedent studies.
These precedents demonstrate the form of curves and waves: The Timber Wave at the London design festival and Waves by Mette Maya. The best possible stair structure would be a cantilever stair as it is fixed to a wall and doesn’t require a full stringer which can make the stairs appear dense and heavy.
FEEL FLOW FORM STAIRCASE
The willow will flow through onto the first floor to keep the theme continuous, for a subtle transition between floors.
Willow is a natural and sustainable material, the height of the willow has been took into consideration as having it too close to the lighting it can be a fire hazard.
They will be wrapped underneath the tread to act as a supported stringer and it will look more natural. The outer structure will help conceal the user for health and safety reasons and it will be made from willow to give a dainty tree like affect.

STRUCTURAL PLANNING his staircase was a developmental design for the Sitting Pretty Tote project – taking strong influence from the form of a stirrup.
The staircase had a skeleton-like shell with its repetitive rail and stringer. One of the focuses for the design was to have the stairs be viewed as a sculptural piece as well as a functional object.

ELIZA'S PANTRY
T
he client for this brief suggested a simple yet fitting logo for their cafe. Sourcing inspiration from vintage botanical drawings and scenery, the logo remains an effortless form but still having reference to vines and nature.
As for the interior, keeping a plain but contemporary theme - this adds light and empthisises the nature hanging from the ceiling and exterior.
