Memory’s scene

An idea that came to mind when planning a group camping trip, was that it would be an ideal location to film parts of my music video. The open space, isolation from adults/ urban city makes the group seem separate and alone. This idea works well with teenagers because of the sense of maturity but also how they are along through could be reckless. The location can be viewed alternatively as an unusual place to be associated to teenagers, as stereotypically lively, urban streets and city locations are associated to young people such as night clubs, streets, the city bars/pubs as these are all busy, upcoming modern areas. Therefore the countryside/ a filed could be seen as too isolated, and almost boring to a group of young adults.

The idea of going out and socialising is typically seen to be a teenage/ younger generation activity. The idea of going to bars and staying out late also falls into this idea, unfortunately with not being 18 filming this would be different because of age restrictions. However going out to quirky cafes, eating and drinking still falls into this idea. I believe these clips would work well in my video and highlight the idea of going out and socialising.

Motion scene

A Street, busy areas, country lanes, outside house

Using a bicycle to represent a sense of motion, my ideas on this part of the scene is to incorporate different locations as part of showing the idea of traveling. One of my ideas is to show the boy getting on his bike, this could be outside his house, going up the drive etc. An scene I want to achieve is cycling down a road, this could be in the city or a country way path. Possible locations that I could use to achieve these scenes:

Nearby woods,

The Street, costessey

Isolated, however doesn’t suit the genre and pace of the music.

Town Road, costessey, country road, quite, isolated

The croft, costessey Getting on the bike, outside of house ( house to establish the beginning of his journey)

Streets, to establish ( busy and isolated )

The waterfront, open, the B2

Performance sce

The performance scene is the footage the band playing, this could ether be at a gig, or practising. This is to relate the music video to the band and the music. The idea of featuring a music I have recently been to a gig at the performance within the music waterfront, Although this was not a video is widely used across many local band, I was able to record some genres. I believe this one idea to footage. I was able to film the audience, present the genre of music to the rather than the band playing therefore I audience, as it allows the Mise could include this within my music en scene/ style of the band to be video. shown. But also to feature and show the band themselves, this I am able to watch local bands perform could be to highlight that the at local music venues such as The music Is there original, created waterfront, Open and The b2 in by themselves to have a sense of Norwich. I also know performers/ ownership. bands that would happily allow me to film them whilst playing.

Contextual links

The idea of featuring a music performance within the music video is widely used across many genres. I believe this one idea to present the genre of music to the audience, as it allows the Mise en scene/ style of the band to be shown. But also to feature and show the band themselves, this could be to highlight that the music Is there original, created by themselves to have a sense of ownership. For instance pop genres of music videos tend to use lip synching when acting or performing an example of this is the “One direction, what makes you beautiful this is a classic example of how the band claim ownership through performance, this tends to be used with pop videos/ genres to establish the band in a more natural environment, In this case it is on a beach and in a car. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJO3ROT-A4E

The indie/ rock genre of music tend to use performance at gigs, practising and festivals to represent ownership. I personally believe that this is a clever way to advertise and promote the band as well, as it gives the audience an insight to what they are like when live/ performing. A few examples of bands that do this are Sundara karma, Peace and two door cinema club.
