PRE-SALE INSPECTION All sheep forward for the sale will be subject to a Society inspection. Any animal which does not reach the inspection standard will not be eligible for sale. The inspection decision will be final and any animal failed will be removed from the sale and forfeit the entry fee. Easycare sheep should not have: a. Horns b. Wool c. Not be Shorn ALL SHEEP OFFERED FOR SALE MUST BE TAGGED WITH A SOCIETY TAG. (THESE CAN BE SUPPLIED ON SALE DAY AT A COST OF £1 EACH) AS WELL AS NORMAL IDENTITY TAGS. The vendor shall be responsible for the correctness of identity. Any tags which are tampered with, hand written/bear marks, are faulty or illegible will be rejected from the sale. EASYCARE SHEEP The main features of the Easy Care breed:

Easycare are the ideal low cost meat sheep for the modern farmer.

Medium sized, hornless, extremely hardy and requiring very little maintenance. Rams adult bodyweight around 75 kg Rams are particularly pre-potent and immensely virile , hardy and can cover large numbers of ewes. Ewe adult body weight around 60 kg Ewes milk well and are excellent mothers. Lambs are active and alert at birth and grow quickly.

   

1.8 Lambs reared per Ewe Ease of lambing - specifically developed for this purpose Vitality at birth - born with hair for protection High growth rate - Lambs reach 17 kgs carcass weight at 12 weeks High meat yield and Easycare meat is of the highest quality – light in texture, fine grained, lean and with an exceptional taste.

They are characterised by a unique fleece which seasonally sheds.

No shearing or crutching and a low propensity for diseases such as foot rot combine to minimise veterinary and shepherding costs.
