Bats Make Austin
Mission and New Name
BATX (pronounced B-A-T-X) seeks to educate and engage Austinites with their fellow flying neighbors. Through family friendly activities such as arts, crafts, music, food and more; the community gets the opportunity to get up-close and personal with these iconic inhabitants of the city, the Mexican Free -Tailed bats. Bats have helped make Austin unique since 1980 and our new name reflects that. BATX is a celebration of these creatures and their incredible contributions to the city.
