Displays on the Second and Third Floors will feature 16 leading brands from across the interiors spectrum, showcasing a retrospective of classic and archive pieces, as well as new and exclusive products.

First held in 2003, the annual London Design Festival has become a vehicle to promote the hottest designers and attract the world’s top practitioners to the city for a celebration of all things design. This year’s festival hosts more than 350 events and innovative installations in illustrious venues such as the V&A and Somerset House. To mark the occasion, between 12th and 27th September, an exhibition at Harrods – Timeless Design – will bring together leading international brands to showcase previously unseen archive and limited-edition pieces as well as exclusive launches.

ALESSI The brand will be showcasing prototypes from a private museum in Italy, among them Philippe Starck’s memorable citrus squeezer, the futuristic Juicy Salif, which turns 25 this year. FORNASETTI Eccentric prints and patterns are signature hallmarks at Fornasetti. The brand will showcase a one-off desk and a specially made screen, created using the atelier’s contemporary printing technique. Fornasetti, Second Floor FRITZ HANSEN Prolific fashion designer Raf Simons has collaborated with Danish companies Fritz Hansen and Kvadrat to revisit a Poul Kjaerholm day bed and foldingstool design. Fritz Hansen and Timeless Design, Third Floor KNOLL Modern furniture with a retro nod is the order of the day at Knoll. The brand will

be showcasing its Pilot chair, created with the help of British designers Barber & Osgerby. Knoll and Timeless Design, Third Floor LE CREUSET Created from cast iron, Le Creuset’s cookware is made to last a lifetime.

CAVIAR HOUSE OYSTER BAR Oysters and Chablis – or perhaps Champagne – are the obvious choice, but the finest caviar and the rare Balik smoked salmon are also served up at the bar. BENTLEY’S SEA GRILL The renowned Bentley’s in Piccadilly, which celebrates its centenary next year, is today owned and run by celebrated Irish chef Richard Corrigan. The menu includes bouillabaisse, lobster ceviche and Loch Ryan oysters. Signature dish: Beer-battered fish and chips

GALVIN DEMOISELLE PETIT BISTRO Brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin tap into their French side with everything from brioche for breakfast and charcuterie for lunch to patisserie for afternoon tea. FIRST FLOOR MANGO TREE Renowned for its authentic dishes and exotic flavours, Asian specialist chef Ian Pengelley’s Mango Tree has a menu featuring Thai curries, Chinese dumplings and roasted meats, and Vietnamese pho (noodle soup) with Wagyu beef.
