The president of the Emirates Medical Association, Dr Sultan stated that now dental decay is very common among children and to control this dental issue the parents must be educated on how to care for their children’s teeth from the very start. The president of the Emirates Medical Association revealed several reasons for the increase in dental decay.

Dr. Sultan pointed out that a major reason for this increase in tooth decay was due to artificial eating. Children no longer consume healthy natural foods, they consume artificially sweeten drinks and foods which produce excessive bacteria which in long run lead to tooth decay. He stated that even the governmental efforts to introducing healthy eating at private and public places were not having the desired effects. Furthermore, the dental issue were aggravated with the lack of dental care.

The Diamond Bar dental agency further stated that now 75 percent dental cases involved tooth erosion. The agency reported that the main contributing reason to tooth erosion was no other than the artificially sweetened fizzy drinks, which people nowadays consume regularly without practicing the required oral care. Most of these cases were children, because with fizzy drinks children stop consuming water which helps to flush out the sugar that sticks to your teeth.

Therefore, in children the sugar stays and produces bacteria which triggers the production of bacteria.

suggest that national awareness campaigns must be formulated to inform people of the dangers of tooth decay and poor dental health. With such awareness campaign people will be motivated to learn about the dental issues or prevention methods. Moreover, the experts suggest that in order to ensure the dental healthof children, the parents must be educated. Parents ignore their children’s oral health simply because they are unaware of its importance and impact on the child’s health.
