Alpharetta is located about 15 miles north of Interstate 285, making it an OTP, or “outside the perimeter” suburb of Atlanta. Incorporated as a city in 1858, Alpharetta is much more than a bedroom community, however. With a mix of residential and commercial areas, Alpharetta is a major hub for businesses and companies that employ more than 120,000 people. Over 600 tech-based companies have offices in Alpharetta, including LexisNexis, Hewlett Packard, and Microsoft. Forbes recently named Alpharetta as the number one city to relocate to, based on such data as the number of people who moved there for a job and changes in school enrollment. Alpharetta public schools are part of the Fulton County Schools district, one of the top-performing districts in Georgia. With a wide range of community amenities including parks, annual festivals, shopping, and the world-class Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, Alpharetta has good reason to attract homebuyers.

MILTON

www.cityofmiltonga.us Milton comprises the far northern portion of northern Fulton County. Not even a teenager yet, it has made a big splash on the scene and is one of the most sought-after Atlanta area suburbs. Incorporated in 2006, Milton has a new city hall, a stately traditional structure adjacent to the town green. Home to nearly 40,000 people, Milton bears the name of Revolutionary War hero John Milton. Even though Milton is primarily residential in character, it has enough close-to-home shopping and dining spots to make it self-sufficient and very convenient. From family-friendly eateries to locallyowned boutiques and antique shops, residents will find plenty of

services and amenities. In late 2016, city officials initiated a Downtown Milton/Crabapple Placemaking effort to spearhead new development plans.
