CASE STUDY – Nevsehir Bus Terminal

CASE STUDY – Bus Station Velenje Architects- Guzic Trplan arhitekti d.o.o. Location- 3320 Velenje, Slovenia Area- 13500.0 sqm Project Year- 2010

Architects- Bahadir Kul Location- Nevşehir, Nevşehir Merkez/Nevşehir, Turke y Area- 8000.0 sqm Project Year- 2010

The ground floor of the building, where the bus station plateau is located, is designed as a fluid public space with an emphasis on the transport organization of the station. The volume of the building 'floating' over the transport terminal is divided into two functional segments, a public garage, and an office tower. The concept of the facade membrane design is the unity that connects the building volume in spite of the diverse program into a characteristic whole. Therefore, a single material of facade membrane - fiber cement façade panels are used for the entire building. Perforation on façade panels illuminates the interior of the garage house but prevents views on the structure and parked cars.

The intercity bus terminal was designed on the way to Aksaray, 5km away from the city center , due to the existing bus terminal’s incompatibility to handle the needs. The convenience of the linkage to the local road of Nigde and to the city center were the reasons why this area is preferred.

CASE STUDY – Bus Station at Vilnius International Airport Architects- Vilniaus architektūros studija Location- Rodūnios kelias 10A, Vilnius, Lithuania Area- 251.0 sqm Project Year- 2017 The place for the new bus stop was chosen according to the customer approved site transport scheme, so the bus stop shed ended up situated on the left side wing of the terminal building and one end of it appears to be almost attached to the car ramp. In order to avoid domination or false striving to adapt to existing different architecture terminal buildings, minimalistic form and neutral raw concrete material were chosen.

CASE STUDY – Santa Pola Bus Station Architects- Manuel Lillo , Emilio Vicedo Location- Ctra. Elche-Santa Pola, 5, 03130 Santa Pola, Alicante, Spain Area- 6010.0 sqm Main use comprehends the new Bus Station, placed in the most prominent point of the plot, next to the roundabout, and directly visible from all points. Likewise, a wide green area is placed next to the road, to emphasize its public role. Formally, the main station building is composed as a floating huge deck, which must provide shadow and protection to the waiting platforms, settled under this deck together with the ticket office ant services, and an oil station and shop in its back side. The main deck has a void in the central area to provide a kind of garden, whose purpose is to provide light, reference point and to serve as a boundary between different uses and spaced.
