ARTIST OPPORTUNITY Hartlepool Borough Council is currently seeking a Theatre Practitioner to work with the Arts4Teens group to deliver a drama performance that explores the life in Hartlepool during the First World War. The chosen practitioner will coordinate a range of opportunities for young people to develop their theatre skills and knowledge of their local heritage. Through the Seeds of Change project the practitioner will work with young people to develop a drama performance that explores social issues, such as suffrage and the women’s movement, comparing and contrasting life during the war with life today. As this is a collaborative project between young people, Youth Services and Cultural Services, the practitioner will therefore need to be able to effectively communicate with a range of partners to ensure that all elements of the performance are delivered to time and on budget. It is expected that through this project young people will also be working towards their Arts Awards, at a minimum of bronze level, the practitioner should be able to support young people through this process. The aims of the project are as follows: -

-

Development of a drama performance to be performed in a community setting by young people. Development of a range of theatre skills including script writing, prop and set design, sound and lighting, stage management, performance skills and production. Increased participation for young people in cultural activity Increased uptake in Arts Award by young people Accessible, positive and high quality arts experiences for young people.
