Experience life on board this fast, sleek, fighting machine, the most advanced of its age, manned by a breed of hardy sailors well used to the long months at sea and able to fight like lions. Little wonder they were known as ‘wooden ships and iron men’. Take time out to visit the Worlds of Trincomalee Gallery, charting the life and times of this famous warship from its launch in 1817 to the present day.
