Hartselle Utilities serves the City of Hartselle with water, electricity, natural gas and sanitary sewer system. To get connected with Hartselle Utilities service, a rental lease or a house purchase agreement must be presented to transfer utilities to the new customer. The deposit cost is determined by credit rating and ranges from $25 to $435. If the prospective customer can provide a letter from another utility company stating he or she was in good standing for at least one year, the deposit fee could be waived, and only a connection fee would be required. HARTSELLE GARBAGE PICKUP
Residents are provided with a 96-gallon rollout cart. For a successful pickup to occur, the cart must be placed curbside according to directions. New to the City of Hartselle? The following items can be dropped off at the landfill: yard waste, wood, paper, plastic, scrap metal, cardboard, furniture, carpet, construction waste, household garbage for transfer to Morgan County Regional Landfill and electronics for transfer to Morgan County Regional Landfill. The following items cannot be dropped off at the landfill: paints, treated lumber, chemicals, tires, asbestos, medical waste, liquids, batteries, tube televisions, hazardous waste, burned materials and gas bottles. LANDLINE PHONE SERVICE
For a landline phone connection, the choices in Hartselle are AT&T and Charter Communications. AT&T adds a hookup fee to the first monthly bill, but this fee can be paid in monthly installments. The cost of service from AT&T will depend on the number and types of services selected. AT&T’s 24hour service line is 800-288-2020, and its website is www.att.com. Hartselle Police Department
TThe Hartselle Police Department is under the leadership of Chief Justin Barley. Barley has been with the department since January 1999 and began his law enforcement career in 1997. Barley is a 2001 graduate from Athens State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in public safety administration. He also earned a master’s degree in justice and public safety from Auburn University in Montgomery. He is a 2008 graduate, a code enforcement officer from the FBI National Academy Session 235 and is also a Certified Police Chief through the University Partnership for Alabama Continuing Education. The department is made up of 31 full time and 7 part time officers, two security officers for city hall and five school protection officers. There is a patrol division, criminal investigations division and two full-time School Resource Officers who help make up the department.
