Sparkman Park is a 122-acre recreation oasis located

Salong the city’s southern border. The park, which is managed by Hartselle Parks and Recreation, provides the community with a center complete with a multitude of outdoor facilities including six baseball fields, four softball fields, one football field, six full-size soccer fields and a special needs accessible playground and splash pad.

The department also offers programs that encourage citizens to get out and enjoy their community, the facilities and the great outdoors. Sparkman Civic Center houses the administrative offices of Hartselle Parks and Recreation. The facility is located at 406 Nance Ford Rd. The recreation center, named in honor of Hartselle native Sen. John Sparkman, offers meeting rooms, two gymnasiums, a racquetball court and the community senior center. Along with these amenities Hartselle Parks and Recreation also offers many opportunities to get involved in the community, such as the Southern Market Days Vintage Market, the Shining Stars program for individuals with special needs, youth and adult sports and a plethora of instructional and educational programs for all ages and abilities. Sparkman Park boasts an inviting, lighted walking trail, five pavilions, an aquatic center, a three-acre stocked pond, a sand volleyball court, two-disc golf courses along with several sports complexes and playgrounds. Across town, Hartselle Parks
