Took on new health publishing licensing and custom content work with companies including Microsoft, and Anthem.

Fulfilled an agreement with Pfizer to provide 1,200 articles on respiratory health and nutrition for the company’s pilot Health Information Network.

Developed and launched a new corporate learning program, “Health and Wellness: Designing a Sustainable Nutrition Plan”, that has enrolled more than 530 learners.

With the generous support of Hazem Ben-Gacem, selected two highpotential health care leaders in Tunisia to apply for admission to one of HMS’s master’s degree programs.

Expanded involvement in Latin America including designing and delivering a program for neurologists and diabetologists organized by Adium

Completed year three of our work with the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population: 395 postgraduate certificate program learners

9 students graduated from HMS master’s degree programs and 5 more students began a master’s degree program

Extended HMS’s global reach through distributors like the Harvard VPAL Office, Emeritus, and Northwest Education

Educator titled, “Online Courses

Provide Robust Learning Gains and Improve Learner Confidence in the Foundational Biomedical Sciences”, authored by Andrew Pike, Matt Bunch, Christine M. DeGennaro, and Michael Parker.

116 students graduated from the Master of Medical Sciences in Clinical Investigation; Master of Healthcare Quality and Safety; and Master in Clinical Service Operations programs in May 2023.

A commentary article titled, “Digital Transformation Success: What Can Health Care Providers Learn from Other Industries?”, authored by Stanley Shaw and John Glaser, was recognized by the editors of NEJM Catalyst as one of their top articles of 2022.

Launched a new HMS Continuing Education channel on YouTube with 101 videos that deliver authoritative, trustworthy health information to health care providers across the spectrum of practice.

Earned the highest designation awarded by the Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education™ so that HMS can offer credits for pharmacists, physician assistants, psychologists, social workers, dentists, and dieticians to participate in continuing education activities, in addition to the CE credit courses that it offers for physicians and nurses.

Convened 75 international medical education leaders from over 25 medical schools in 25 countries for a virtual forum, Emerging Trends from the IMPACT Community 2022

AUDIENCES AROUND THE WORLD

Monday.com was launched as a new project management cross-OEE tool.

Embarked on an OEE-wide strategic review for the continued growth and development of our organization, our people, the educational programs we create and the audiences we support. Woven throughout the process was a commitment to ensure the organization’s scalability, sustainability, and adaptability.

400,000 messages

have been sent and 47 public channels have been created

on a new OEE Slack workspace that is supporting operational efficiency, improving internal communications, and helping foster community.

Integrated the Harvard Macy Institute’s accredited medical education activities and offerings into OEE and hired Sarah Wood as the new faculty director to oversee this work.

Developed core OEE functions including Product Development, Program Operations, Technology, Finance, Marketing, Admissions and Enrollment Services.

Advanced our “One OEE” strategy by reorganizing business units around our primary learner audiences: current and aspiring health care professionals; corporations and their employees; and patients and families.

Developed a value proposition for Corporate Learning, launched a new microsite, and a new stream of thought leadership articles to help health care business leaders and learning and development professionals understand the unique learning opportunities HMS offers.

Launched a Salesforce Assessment and Blueprint project to review OEE’s business processes and how they integrate with the Salesforce ecosystem.

Established new staff working groups focused on community; communications; diversity, equity, and inclusion; onboarding and retention.

Initiated a transformational project that will unify OEE’s brand identity under the HMS banner and co-locate programs, courses, and content on a centralized website.

Transformed our physical office space at 4 Blackfan into a flex working space for groups across HMS, while transitioning OEE work culture to meet the needs and opportunities of our dynamic and evolving work environment.

Developing philanthropically funded Adult Autism Health Resources for lay audiences and clinicians.

Provided support for the University’s Professional and Lifelong Learning portal upgrade to a new website platform.

Partnered with the Office of the Vice Provost for Advances in Learning on the development and marketing of a new Health Care Leadership series of online courses.

Partnering with the Harvard School of Dental Medicine on an accredited course on Moderate Procedural Sedation.

Partnered with the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health on an accredited course on Nutrition Management.

Promoted a new Harvard Climate event to members of the HMS OEE learning community.

Enrique Caballero received the American Diabetes Association’s Outstanding Educator in Diabetes Award as well as the prestigious HMS Harold Amos Award for his exemplary work on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Health Care.

2023 Harvard Heroes awards given to Tami Bolk and Mary Lou Townsend in recognition of their work supporting Harvard’s mission at the highest levels of contribution, impact, and excellence.

Delivered a financial contribution to support the HMS mission and priorities.

In its second year, the Postgraduate Medical Education Alumni Summit drew to the HMS campus certificate program learners from 35 countries across 6 continents.

94 HMS graduate students completed HMX courses for credit or as part of a for-credit course

Launched the philanthropically funded Lyme Wellness Initiative with patient-driven, evidencebased resources at lyme.health.harvard.edu.
