50 YEARS — CLUB UNVEIL COMMEMORATIVE THIRD SHIRT — Cambridge United are delighted to today announce that the U’s will take to the Abbey wearing a special edition, commemorative home strip to mark 50 years since the Clubs election to the Football League in 1970. Bill Leivers’ 1969/1970 Southern League Champions missed out on election the season before, however his United team were duly elected in May 1970 at the expense of Bradford Park Avenue with a 31 to 17 vote in favour of non-league United. Leivers’ United swapped the traditional amber and black with an all-white home strip for the inaugural Football League campaign after the team adopted all-white home colours in February 1970, following a string of good results in the then all-white change strip. United continued with these colours before reverting to black and amber for the 1972/73 season onwards. Working closely with our technical partner

hummel, the club have re-created a limited edition run of 500-boxed commemorative shirts for retail. United fans will be able to purchase these from 12:00pm today at www.cufcdirect.com United will today mark the 50-year anniversary by wearing an all-white home strip, commemorating the fantastic achievements by the manager, squad and staff at that time, who helped to establish Cambridge United as a Football League Club. ■

MARK BONNER ———— HEAD COACH ———— Our last game here against Tranmere returned us a hard earned point where they showed their quality, in what was a resilient performance for us to take a draw and end the month of September unbeaten. It may have been in fortunate circumstances in the end with the late offside which was a close call but we will take it. We know we need to use the ball better than we did in this game and try to defend higher up the pitch, but the quality and experience of Tranmere’s side got on top of the game and made it really difficult for us. Last weekend at Exeter saw us start the game in the way we want to begin games. On another day we would’ve gone ahead and who knows, but our dominance in the first quarter of an hour ended in a penalty for the hosts. We were of course disappointed with the two goals we conceded and the manner they came about and should not have been going in two down at the break. We again started the second half well and despite some controlled football, we were unable to create any solid chances in the
second half. There was some positive elements of our game from what we had set out to give in the game but ultimately it wasn’t enough, and we need to make sure every time we try to add something to our game, we don’t take something else away. Exeter, like Tranmere will be at the top end of the table come the end of the season, as will today’s opponents. We need to keep showing we can compete with these teams and take the steps required to be a point scoring team against the top sides. We were pleased to seal our progress in the EFL Trophy midweek at Burton Albion. We have to learn a lesson from the poor start we made, as the two early goals and the resulting periods of play nearly saw us out of sight. We managed to hang on, get a hold of the game, and our reaction following our first goal drove us to get back in the game. In the second half we played well and had the energy and desire to win the game. We want to progress in each competition as far as we can and not only did this game see us qualify with a game to spare, it also shows us CAMBRIDGE UNITED F.C. V NEWPORT COUNTY

Ian Mather ————CEO———— Welcome to Newport a club we have got to know very well through many fixtures in recent years. As many predicted they have got off to a flying start both in the league and, as we know only too well, in the Carabao Cup. No doubt today will be a tough challenge for the U’s who bounced back brilliantly to beat L1 side Burton Albion on Tuesday. What a goal from Luke Hannant! The news off the pitch continues to be dominated by two issues: Finance and fans getting back to watch games. The finance problem is there for all to see. We, and all clubs in the EFL and Premier League, are playing games without any gate income. The impact is felt particularly in Leagues 1 and 2 where the largest single income source is from match days. In the Premier League far more money is generated from broadcast rights and commercial activity. Statements from Premier League clubs consistently show that they do not feel any responsibility towards lower league clubs. Sean Dyche from Burnley is perhaps the most outspoken comparing the relationship to successful and less successful hedge funds and restaurants. That is like comparing apples with www.cambridge-united.co.uk
goats. The Premier League do have a working relationship with the next three leagues – sending young players on loan to develop them e.g. Jack Roles last season. Currently there are over 40 Premier League players on loan to EFL clubs. Mr Dyche should look at his own background (Chesterfield, Northampton, Luton and Bristol City plus others) as well as where his squad comes from – mostly EFL clubs. I suspect the real rub for Premier League clubs is an unwillingness to fund Championship clubs who they could reasonably see as closer competitors. If so they should be brave enough to say that and find a solution to the urgent situation in L1 and L2 whilst continuing to work on a solution for the Championship. The government also need to play their part – either by influencing the Premier League to help and/ or providing direct support as they have, to their credit, for the arts. The question of fans coming back into stadiums hit the news this week as well over 165,000 people signed an online petition asking for a debate in Parliament on the question of allowing fans back in. If you have not signed it yet, please do: https://petition. parliament.uk/petitions/552036 The trigger number, where a debate must at least be considered, is 100,000 but the more that sign up the better. We are confident that we can host games with a limited crowd in a Covid safe way. What surprises me, and no doubt millions of others, is that it is allowable to have concerts (including choirs) in the Albert Hall, inside, with over 50% capacity yet games at the Abbey, such as the one staged with Fulham, outside, with less than 20% capacity, are not allowed. How can it be possible to go to a cinema to watch a football game on a big screen inside but not to watch the same game outside? To quote our Prime Minister, we need to deal with the pandemic: “fearlessly and with common sense”. I would add to that meticulous planning. This is deliverable in the Abbey and grounds up and down the country. Hopefully the message will get through. In the meantime, enjoy the game wherever you are watching or listening. Hopefully on ifollow as every pass sold is a real help. ■

TODAY’S VISITORS ———— Newport County ———— Having sat at the summit of the League Two table this time last week, the U’s welcome a Newport County side to the Abbey this afternoon, whose impressive early form has seen the Exiles replace United in pole position at the top of the division. Michael Flynn’s team not only arrive in Cambridge with an unbeaten record to boast so far in League Two, but their dramatic switch in playing style should not go unnoticed either, as seen in the U’s Carabao Cup defeat at Rodney Parade last month. Equipped with the likes of Josh Sheehan and Scott Twine in the centre of the park accompanied with threats out wide such as Liam Shepherd getting forward from full back,
the Welsh outfit without question have a far more attractive manner in their style of play this year. Whilst they still also possess their more familiar ruggedness and organisation at the set piece. Creditable cup runs have also been a regular feature for the Exiles in recent seasons, and already in 2020/21 they’ve knocked out Championship opposition in Swansea City and Watford, as well as pushing Premier League Newcastle United all the way to a penalty shoot-out in the League Cup. All of which indicate that County have more than enough quality to be one of the sides competing at the top of end of division come what May. CAMBRIDGE UNITED F.C. V NEWPORT COUNTY
9 THE FORM
Newport have followed up an opening day 1-1 draw against Scunthorpe United, with three successive victories. They put two goals past both Barrow and Bolton Wanderers to claim their first pair of League Two wins last month, and last weekend they fought from behind to beat Mansfield Town 2-1 with Matty Dolan registering an 88th minute winning penalty. However, it remains to be seen today whether the 0-5 home defeat suffered at the hands of Norwich City U21s in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night, has had any effect on the confidence of the Exiles.
THE MANAGER
MICHAEL FLYNN Newport born and bred, Michael Flynn has a long relationship with the Club. He began his Newport career as a teenager in the academy before breaking through to the first team and eventually earning a move to pro-football. In 2012, Flynn returned to help fire the Club into the Football League with
www.cambridge-united.co.uk
victory over Wrexham in the play-off final at Wembley. After initially retiring from playing, he progressed through the roles of first team coach, academy manager, then (briefly and slightly bizarrely) Football and Business Development Director, before returning as a first team coach under then manager Graham Westley. He re-signed as a player in January 2017 making his fourth debut for the Club in a 3-1 home win vs Hartlepool. He was initially appointed as Caretaker Manager in March 2017, and led the Club to a miraculous escape from relegation, recovering from being 11 points adrift to survive. Since then he guided the Club to the play-off final the following season and has also created multiple cup memories against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Leicester City. â–

Interview ———— HARRY DARLING ———— One of our own Harry Darling has said he’s delighted to be up and running for the new campaign, having been forced to wait a little longer for his opening appearance of the season. The defender required a minor operation leading up to the first game of the campaign at Birmingham City, which has delayed his ability to make an early impact for the U’s. However, the now 21-year old made his first full appearance of the season on Tuesday night at Burton, and marked it in style with his third goal for the Club to cap off an impressive opening performance, as the U’s fought back from behind at the Pirelli. Speaking exclusively to the match programme, Darling reveals his aims for the 2020/21 season with the U’s, having successfully becoming a regular at the heart of United’s defence, moving past the 50 appearance mark last season at the Abbey. The U’s academy product has also stated he

feels up for the fight to keep hold of his shirt in the team, with a strong competition for places with captain Greg Taylor and Robbie Cundy occupying the centre back positions for the opening month of 2020/21.■

FROM THE SLO ———— DAVE MATTHEW-JONES ———— There is nothing worse than hearing the voices of players and coaches echoing around an empty stadium during a competitive match. Fans are needed to provide that atmosphere, the competitive edge and emotion. Last week there was a petition started to ask the Government to re-consider their position on allowing supporters to attend matches at all levels. Within a few days it had exceeded the 150,000 signatures required and is quickly approaching 200,000 at the time of writing. Football, sport and the arts are all important aspects in ensuring the nation’s mental health and wellbeing. It is also important to the local economy and for ensuring large numbers of jobs both on the pitch and off it. There was also an open letter sent by representatives of The Premier League, EFL, The FA, Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship to supporters wanting to assure all fans that they are working together and are fully committed to supporters returning safely to football grounds as soon as possible. CLICK HERE to read the open letter.
It is now about whether actual leagues could survive if clubs started to disappear. It is also about the survival of the pyramid and grassroots which makes football so special in this country. If you want to make a difference why not write to your local MP. Hearing nothing will mean they have no evidence of supporter’s concern, allowing them to avoid the issue. To assist the players and make the Abbey www.cambridge-united.co.uk
look busier on matchdays, in recent weeks we have tried to fill areas with flags and banners. If you have a flag or banner please contact myself or Gareth Daniels who has done a superb job co-ordinating the ones currently on view. Hopefully, there will be two new ones on display. The United in Endeavour banner has been funded by CUSP and one by 100yearsofcoconuts celebrating 50 years of first being voted into the Football League. It was also great to see the Pride and Passion flag back at the Abbey for Tranmere match. I hope the CUFC flag that was first displayed at Cardiff and then throughout the following years could be found. To help fill other areas we are organising a Face in Crowd initiative. The scheme allows you to have your photo placed in the stand during the period when matches will be behind closed doors. If you are too shy to have your own you could have your favourite past player on one. CLICK HERE to find out more. Please keep watching the team on ifollow. If you are still experiencing difficulties please contact me. I will try to help if I can. I was recently asked and can confirm the following - you don’t need a TV licence to watch ifollow. The Matchday Live content group have done a really good job in keeping fans engaged so far, with the content on the club website and social media channels. Their work is being held up by other clubs now as the benchmark. Please encourage fellow football fans and friends you know, to switch their viewing of Premier League or Championship football to following the U’s on ifollow occasionally. Every person subscribing to our home matches is really important to the club, our sponsors who have kept supporting the Club throughout this difficult period and for retaining & possibly building support when live football returns. Take care, stay safe and look after yourselves. Please contact me via dave.matthew-jones@ cambridge-united.co.uk or via twitter at SLO@CambridgeUTD

MEMORIES DOWN ———— CUT THROAT LANE ———— Greetings from Coconuts! Just remember if we won every game it would get boring….. This weekend we welcome our visitors from Gwent. Ahh, the black & ambers v the black and ambers, doesn’t happen very often, does it? Fair dues to Newport, they have been pretty constant with their shade of amber over the years, if we were honest better than us as I don’t recall them playing in primrose which we have been guilty of over the years. I did suggest to an Exile fan once that actually they played more in tangerine in their halcyon days of the late 70s and early 80s (a la Dundee Utd) but he wouldn’t have it. Even though their match day programme was known as ‘The Tangerine Topic’ one season. Just saying.
visitors 4-0 in front of a meagre 1,847 crowd. David Crown, Wolfie, Mr Beck and Neil Horwood scored that day. An up and down season saw us finish the campaign in 15th, Newport bless them were bottom, 19 points adrift. The programme for that day is attached for your indulgence and indeed memory, if you’re old enough! Finally, now that we are well and truly in to Autumn a reminder that on this day back in 1966 the Beach Boys released “Good Vibrations”, voted no 6 in the parade of best ever songs by Rolling Stone magazine. Bye for now,
CLICK below I DID SUGGEST TO AN EXILE FAN ONCE THAT ACTUALLY THEY PLAYED MORE IN TANGERINE IN THEIR HALCYON DAYS OF THE LATE 70S AND EARLY 80S (A LA DUNDEE UTD) BUT HE WOULDN’T HAVE IT. EVEN THOUGH THEIR MATCH DAY PROGRAMME WAS KNOWN AS ‘THE TANGERINE TOPIC’ ONE SEASON I’ve been back down Cut Throat Lane to check out our form on this date, 10th October. A few interesting fixtures, a 2-2 draw at Fleetwood in 2010 saw a certain R Willmott get a brace for us and Magno Vieira popped one in for the Cods. Five years later Pompey were in town for an eventful fixture which saw two red cards, the U’s take the lead after five minutes but somehow we conspired to lose 1-3. We did only have 42% possession mind, apparently. It would be churlish though not to highlight this day in 1987 when we stuffed this weekend’s www.cambridge-united.co.uk

MICK GEORGE RENEW PARTNERSHIP TO REACH DECADE MILESTONE Cambridge United are delighted to announce that the Mick George Group will become the Club’s longest serving main shirt sponsor after extending their partnership with the U’s. The extension, which will run until 2023, will see the partnership reach the decade milestone, meaning their association as the Club’s exclusive home, away and academy shirt sponsor is the longest in the Football Club’s history. The local company, one of the area’s leading suppliers to the construction industry, initially became the U’s home shirt sponsor prior to the 2013/14 campaign - the season the club reclaimed its place in the Football League and won the FA Trophy at Wembley. The agreement will see the Mick George Group logo printed on all home and away replica shirts as well as those worn in competitive action by the club at all levels. This includes the first team and all youth academy teams. Jon Stump, Joint CEO at the Mick George Group commented: “We have built a genuine and valued affinity with both the club and supporters since we became the front of shirt sponsor in 2013 and consider that we are seen as much a partner and fellow fan as opposed to
www.cambridge-united.co.uk
just a corporate sponsor.” “Through our association with the club, which dates back well before the shirt sponsorship commenced, we have regularly invested in the club in different capacities and recognise the importance in doing so at the present time, to help provide the Club and fans with some muchneeded stability in the present climate.” “The Club is a critical hub for community activation, representing the togetherness that exists in the City. That ethos is something that aligns with our business philosophies and has been a key factor in our decision to renew despite economic uncertainty.” “The Club should be applauded for the way it has conducted itself in the current circumstances.” “We are proud to be the club’s front of shirt sponsor and hope that by signing a threeyear extension to the current deal, reflects the fantastic relationship that has been built between the Mick George Group, Cambridge United FC and its supporters. More importantly, we want to do what we can to help the club fulfil its full potential and experience many more memorable occasions in the future.’’ ■

MENTAL HEALTH ———— JOHN “SHAGGY” TAYLOR ————
On World Mental Health Awareness Week, Cambridge United legend John “Shaggy” Taylor sat down with Graham Daniels, Chair of Cambridge United Community Trust, to discuss his own personal battles. Taylor is fondly remembered by all at the A bbey for an incredible playing career in which he became the Football Club’s leading goalscorer of the Football League era before going on to manage the U’s, guiding them to the LDV Vans Trophy final at the Millennium Stadium in 2002. However, many will not be aware of the mental health struggles the man himself has experienced across many years, and in order to raise awareness of the increasing necessity for mental health to be discussed more openly and irradiate the stigma around mental health in society, Taylor has bravely opened up on all of the details which have led to face up to his own journey. Speaking out about facing up to his gambling
and alcohol addictions, which he identifies as the primary cause behind the negative effect on his mental well-being, John describes it as being; “…the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life…but without question the strongest and best thing he’s ever done.” Watch the fascinating interview with John Taylor opens up about his mental health struggle to Graham Daniels, Chair of Cambridge United Community Trust. Tackling Loneliness – FOREVER UNITED This year has been a tough one for absolutely everyone. The periods of lockdown alongside loss and grief for many have had a huge impact on the nation’s mental health. Moving forward the restrictions on daily life continue to have an impact on our well-being. In particular though seniors and those shielding are particularly affected. As Shaggy makes clear, it is hugely important to stay connected in this time. Indeed, one thing the Cambridge CAMBRIDGE UNITED F.C. V NEWPORT COUNTY

U’S SCOOP NATIONAL AWARD FOR SCHOOLS MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMME
Just before Covid-19 struck, we were delighted to be awarded the inaugural League Two Project of the Year award for our ‘Mind Your Head’ programme. Mind Your Head is our 6-week mental health education programme for 12-14 year olds designed in partnership with local mental health charity Centre 33 to increase mental health literacy and knowledge of accessing support, to improve well-being and resilience, and to enthuse young people to understand mental health by using the power of sport and brand of Cambridge United Football Club. Throughout the lessons we provide strategies for young people to improve their sense of
www.cambridge-united.co.uk
wellbeing, spot signs of poor mental health, reduce stress and manage social media use. We aim to kick off a conversation where young people are able to positively speak about the issue, and understand that mental health is something we all have - hopefully shifting away from some of the common misconceptions, providing a tangible difference to young people’s mental health, and creating a more de-stigmatised and mental health literate generation. The award is testament to the commitment of Cambridge United to be a mentally healthy football club, and thanks must go to staff at the Community Trust both past and present, and perhaps most of all, those who funded this programme. Thus far we have delivered the programme within 10 Cambridgeshire secondary schools and delivered to over 2000 young people. This programme works as part of Cambridge United FC’s overall Mental Health Charter. This works across five pillars of the club: Players, Coaches, Supporters, Schools and Community. Around the Division ———— LEAGUE TWO ROUND-UP ———— OWEN MIZON TAKES HIS LATEST LOOK ACROSS LEAGUE TWO Today’s visitors Newport County currently occupy first position and are one of six teams currently unbeaten after a late comeback 2-1 victory over Mansfield Town. Graham Coughlan’s Stags took the lead on the 69th minute through Stephen McLaughlin and looked well on course to secure all three points, that was until a strike from in-form playmaker Scott Twine and a Matty Dolan penalty at the death secured an Exiles fightback. Mansfield, on the other hand, remain winless thus far. Despite conceding 12 goals in their last two matches at the Globe Arena - albeit one of those was against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup - Derek Adams’ Morecambe sit content in second after an impressive 1-0 victory over Port Vale. On-loan Burnley midfielder Adam Phillips netted the decider from the spot on the 76thminute to consign the away side to their first defeat of the season. It took promotion-chasing Salford City just 67 seconds to open their goalscoring account on Saturday as Ashley Hunter capitalised on a misplaced back pass. It proved to be the only goal of the encounter as the Ammies held out for a 1-0 win over Stevenage to lift them into second, making it four games unbeaten and confirming a fourth consecutive clean sheet in the process. Exeter City picked up their first home win of the season with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Cambridge United last weekend. Despite starting well, the travelers were undone at the back when Matt Jay opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 16. An exquisite low finish from youngster Joel Randall doubled the Grecians advantage 10 minutes before the break. The damage was done, proving an end to what was a rapid start to the campaign for the U’s. Nonetheless, they’re situated in a creditable 4th spot. A late equaliser from Nathan Ralph broke
Southend United’s duck and secured their first point of the season as his side drew 1-1 at Crawley Town. The hosts took the lead through Ashley Nadesan, but eventually would succumb to severe Southend pressure in the second half. A share of the spoils means the Red Devils obtain the final play-off spot with 7 points to their name. Cheltenham Town rose to 8th after a comprehensive 2-0 away success at Leyton Orient. The well-drilled Robins were rewarded for their early pressure when they forced a Sam Ling own goal in the 16th minute, before extending their advantage on the half hour mark when Finn Azaz headed home. Although it was a tough afternoon for Ross Embleton’s side, 4 points from their first three games proves a steady start. Applaudable grit and determination was on show as Oldham Athletic twice fought back to secure a thrilling 3-3 draw against Colchester United. The U’s were in the driving seat at halftime, two goals to the good thanks to strikes from Ben Stevenson and Callum Harriott. The Latics fought back immensely, Conor McAleny and Carl Piergianni restoring pride and levelling. McAleny grabbed his brace at the death, cancelling out Miles Welch-Hayes’ 65th minute looping header. It makes for contrasting reading, as Colchester are unbeaten whereas Oldham remain winless. In a pulsating 1-1 draw, Forest Green Rovers and Walsall stretched their unbeaten runs in League Two. The Saddlers went ahead after 14 minutes when Caolan Lavery nodded home, but Mark Cooper’s Rovers went from strength to strength as the game progressed. Jamille Matt lashed home with a cool finish on 61 to gain a deserved point. In the first Cumbrian Football League derby for 56 years, Carlisle United earned the bragging rights after overcoming Barrow 1-0 despite CAMBRIDGE UNITED F.C. V NEWPORT COUNTY
25 playing over half an hour with ten men. A neat header from Jon Mellish midway through the first half put the home side ahead. In a more challenging second period, after Aaron Hayden was dismissed on the 55th minute, Chris Beech’s men saw out the game resolutely. Where Barrow are concerned, the wait for a first victory since their return to the league ranks goes on. After a turgid start, Bolton Wanderers gained their first win of the season as they dispatched Harrogate Town 2-1 away from home. Eoin Doyle, who bulged the onion bag 25 times last season with Swindon Town, opened his account for the campaign early on. Nathan Delfouneso got in on the act on the 56th minute, and although George Thomson replied with a consolation for the hosts minutes later, the Trotters rearguard held firm to banish an
unwanted 13-game winless run to steer them to 19th. Tranmere Rovers, who fired blanks in their first three League Two matches, finally got their season up and running as a double from James Vaughan secured a 2-0 win over Scunthorpe United. The thoroughly deserved three points moves them to 15th, whereas Neil Cox’s outfit are situated in 18th with four points from four games. To conclude, Grimsby Town were due to entertain Bradford City last week. However, following medical advice over COVID-19 fears, the decision was made to postpone the fixture for a later date. At the time of writing, both sides will indeed partake in games this match weekend. The Mariners travel to Bolton Wanderers and the Bantams host Harrogate Town in front of the Sky Sports cameras. ■

Hot off the Habbin ———— Andrew Stephen ————
“Morale is when your hands and feet keep on working, when your head says it can’t be done”, Benjamin Morrell We live in strange times .The recent results at Old Trafford and Villa Park left me wondering what the effect of empty grounds on players and their concentration levels might be. And, how quickly fortunes change! As of Tuesday evening, the embattled manager of Nottingham Forest looks likely to be sacked after a dismal and winless start six months after being the new hero of the hour. Managers and Directors will always tell you that winning games is what it is all about and, up to a point, they’re right. However, the lack of crowds at games has put a severe strain on lower league clubs which, unlike the so called giants of the game, have far fewer sources of income other than gate receipts. Negotiations continue with the Premier League to release funds to help clubs like ours to survive whatever time it takes to return to normal. The top clubs depends on lower league clubs for its future. Indeed, they couldn’t exist now without them and the players they produce and the excitement they create. Her Majesty’s Government does have form though for abandoning threatened industries and for saying that they must www.cambridge-united.co.uk
bail themselves out or face the inevitable consequences of not making a profit... It is a more complex problem than that because football clubs are not just small businesses which are good for the local economy. They are the repository of dreams of all those fans who believe in them and follow them loyally all their lives. The morale of whole communities depends on how well they do and how attractively they play. How can a huge club like Arsenal claim that they cannot afford to keep their mascot, while paying out 45 million pounds for yet another glamour signing? If the football authorities are not examining these anomalies and safeguarding the real values of our game, they should be! Finally, we have lost a league game and conceded our first goals. We need to get back to winning ways. Newport are always tough to play against and they regularly punch above their weight. They do this through togetherness, and that has been our obvious strength this season. The nation’s morale is in tatters. Football has the power to lift us. Its importance should never be underestimated. COYU’s!■

EVERYONE KNOWS THEIR CLUB COLOURS... DON’T THEY? NORMAL VISION
Approximately one in 12 men inherit colour blindness. It’s carried on the X-chromosome, so only one in 200 women inherit the condition. It can be a real issue in football, whether you’re watching, playing, managing or officiating. Imagine not being able to tell the difference between kit colours, and how that would affect your enjoyment of watching the game – either live or on TV. There are three types of colour blindness – and myriad colour combinations which cause problems. The common perception that colour-blind people only confuse reds and greens is a myth.
COLOUR-BLIND SIMULATION (PROTANOPIA)
The FA has been working closely with UEFA and specialist organisation Colour Blind Awareness to highlight the issue. The intention is to positively influence decision-makers at every level of the game and improve the experience of colour-blind people – whatever their involvement in football. This work has seen the production of a comprehensive guidance booklet. You can read and download it at TheFA.com/colourblindness And please visit the Colour Blind Awareness website: colourblindawareness.org for ways you can help maximise awareness.
Together, let’s make sure football’s future is FOR ALL.
