The Seven Heavens Allah gifted each of his Messengers miracles only for their people. These miracles happened, ended and cannot happen again because they end with the end of the message and death of the messenger. Anyone who saw them during their occurrence believes in them and anyone who did not witness them believed them because they are mentioned in the Holy Quran. Each messenger was gifted his own miracles that differ from his message. Moses was gifted the miracle of the stick but his message or legislation was walled The Torah. Jesus Christ’s miracle, by Allah’s leave, was healing the born blind, lepers and even resurrect the dead and his book was the Bible. In addition, Allah gifted Prophet Muhammad PBUH other miracles including one eternal miracle which is the Holy Quran. This miracle was for his people and those who witnessed his days. The Holy Quran lasts for all mankind after Prophet Muhammad PBUH because his message lasts and remains till Judgment Day.
The Holy Quran contained a lot of verses informing scientific facts that were not identified by science only in the 20th century and this means more than fourteen centuries and The Holy Quran’s miracle is still surviving and renewing. The proof of this fact is in the following verses: “O assembly of jinn and men, if you are able to pass through the regions of the heavens and the earth, you cannot pass through but with His authority” However, we cannot understand the meaning of “regions of heavens and earth” unless we know their purpose. There are multiple verses in The Holy Quran talking about heavens. The term “heavens” in The Holy Quran means anything that can be called “heaven” such as in the following verses:
1- “Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six Days, then, He mounted the Throne. The Beneficent! Ask anyone informed concerning Him!” (Al Furqan, 59) 2- “Is not He (best) Who produces creation, then reproduces it, and Who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? Is there any Allah beside Allah? Say: Bring your proof, if ye are truthful!” (An’naml, 59) 3- “And there is nothing hidden in the heaven or the earth but it is in a clear Record” (An’naml, 59) 4- “Allah knows the Unseen of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Seer of what you do” (Al Hujurat, 18) 5- “Unto Allah belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. Lo! Allah, He is the Absolute, the Owner of Praise” (Luqman, 26) Unless it is clear from the meaning of the verse that the term “heaven” refers one of the following meanings: 1- Anything above man This is shown from the following verses:
“Whoso is wont to think (through envy) that Allah will not give him (Muhammad) victory in the world and the Hereafter (and is enraged at the thought of his victory), let him stretch a rope up to the roof (of his dwelling), and let him hang himself. Then let him see whether his strategy dispelleth that whereat he rageth!.” (Al Hajj, 15) We understand from this verse that of disbelievers who think that Allah will not support his prophet, Muhammad PBUH, they shall hang themselves and see if this will remove their anger or not.
“We have seen the turning of thy face to heaven (for guidance, O Muhammad). And now verily We shall make thee turn (in prayer) toward a qiblah which is dear to thee”. (Al Baqara, 144).
“Seest thou not how Allah coineth a similitude: A goodly saying, as a goodly tree, its root set firm, its branches reaching into heaven” (Ibrahim, 24). From previous verses, we understand that anything above man is called “heaven” as room’s ceiling or space. 2- Earth’s Atmosphere Allah, the Almighty says: “He sendeth down water from the sky, so that valleys flow according to their measure” (Ar’raad, 17). “Allah is He Who sendeth the winds so that they raise clouds, and spreadeth them along the sky as pleaseth Him, and causeth them to break and thou seest the rain downpouring from within them. And when He maketh it to fall on whom He will of His bondmen, lo! they rejoice” (Ar’room, 48). These previous verses show that Allah sends winds that form clouds spreading through the sky in the atmosphere how He wants and then He makes it in accumulated parts from which rain drops fall on whoever He wants to make them cheer and rejoice. “Are ye the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built? (27) He raised the height thereof and ordered it (28) And He made dark the night thereof, and He brought forth the morn thereof (29) And after that He spread the earth,” (An’nazea’at, 27-30) These verses show us that Allah addresses those who deny resurrection and judgment by telling them: “is returning you to life after death better than creation of heavens?. It is Allah, the Almighty, who built them, raised their height, ordered
them and after that he spread the earth, but he made it round in shape”. This also shows that the earth existed before creating the atmosphere but it did not spread only after creating the atmosphere and its rotation around the sun and then day and night were formed. Moreover, the Holy Quran says that the earth is rounded over 14 centuries ago and this fact was not known only after the revelation of Quran. This asserts that the Holy Quran is Allah’s speech delivered by Allah’s messenger. Previous verses also show us that heaven here means the atmosphere surrounding the earth and it is a fact that it moves with the earth so the day, the night, clouds, atmosphere appear with satellites and planes for warfare, scientific, TV or radio broadcasting or for communication purposes. 3- The Sun Allah, the Almighty, says: “Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water? Will they not then believe?”. This verse shows that both the earth and the sun were stuck together but, with Allah’s will, they separated and any living thing was created from water. Most scientific theories assert that the sun and earth were one piece and then separated with evidence that the sun was the nearest star to the earth and elements on earth are the same as elements on the sun. “And of His signs is this: The heavens and the earth stand fast by His command, and afterward, when He calleth you, lo! from the earth ye will emerge.” (Ar’room, 25). This verse shows that one of Allah’s signs is that the whole universe was created to serve humans by Allah’s leave but man only knows the sun was created to serve him as the base of energy formation on earth and the same goes on earth with its
wealth and good, so we can say that “heavens” here means het sun above humans and anything above humans is considered heaven.
Superficial understanding may show some contradiction between these two verses: - “Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water? Will they not then believe?” (Al Anbiaa’, 30). - “He it is Who created for you all that is in the earth. Then turned He to the heaven, and fashioned it as seven heavens. And He is knower of all things.” (Al Baqara, 29). From the first verse we can understand that heavens (the sun) and earth were one part and then separated. The second verse shows us that Allah created the earth first and the created heavens, but this contradiction ends if we know that heavens created after the earth are the seven heavens as it is clear from the second verse 4- The Space (The Lowest Heaven) Allah, the Almighty, says: Allah, the Almighty, says: “We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets” (As’saffat, 6). “And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame” (Al Mulk, 5). “Blessed be He Who hath placed in the heaven mansions of the stars, and hath placed therein a great lamp and a moon giving light!” (Al Furqan, 61). These previous verses assert that the lowest heaven is the one near our atmosphere which was decorated by Allah with planets. Stars are like lamps by which devils are thrown like missiles if they try to get out the lowest heaven. In addition, Allah
created towers in the atmospheric space in the form of groups of stars with various shapes and they are twelve stars such as the Scorpion, Libra, Cancer, etc. the nearest star to earth is the sun which is like a huge lamp that emits light and temperature. The lowest heaven includes the moon which lightens the earth using the sun rays reflected to us. The space is so extended with regular organized components containing a great number of galaxies. Science lately proved that galaxies are moving away from each other and space is being extended. This was told to us by the Quran over 14 centuries ago from the following verse: “We have built the heaven with might, and We it is Who make the vast extent” (Adhariat, 47). In this verse, “might” means power which asserts that the Quran is Allah’s speech and it was told to Prophet Muhammad, PBUH. Despite the single galaxy is extremely huge with great numbers, but they do represent only a simple thing compared with space in which they float. For the universe space, galaxies are like a handful of lintels scattered in an ocean. The Milky Way galaxy, which includes the solar system, include a limitless number of stars, each star is surrounded by a group of planets. There is a possibility of crashing stars with each other like the possibility of a ship crashing in the Indian Ocean with another ship in the Pacific Ocean because distance between stars of the single galaxy is very gig and cannot be perceived by human mind. For example, the distance between the sun and earth is about93 million miles, the distance between the earth and the nearest star in the Milky Way is 30 thousand times the distance of the sun and distance among galaxies is extremely great more than distance among stars in the single galaxy, so the earth is nothing but an extremely tiny part in this wide universe due to its small size as the sun is 1300000 times the size of earth. Despite man in the 20th century managed to put telescopes in space to detect what happens in it, man became sure that there are many things in the universe that cannot be perceived or known. Scientists totally failed in knowing how deep the universe is or knowing what is on
its borders, so how does it feel like concerning what is unseen! as they were also unable to know what is beyond the universe.
Man landed on the moon which is just a supplementary to the earth and may reach Mars or any other planet in the solar system, but can man reach the sun which is the nearest star to earth? It is impossible because: - Temperature on the sun’s outer surface equals millions of degrees which is from inside about 20 million degrees and mere movement towards it may result to death. - Distance between earth and the sun is 93 million miles which is a huge distance compared with the biggest distance we know, which is the length of earth diameter (about 25 thousand miles). If humans cannot reach the sun, can they reach the nearest star to it in this galaxy, which is fart 30 thousand times the distance from the sun?. Moreover, its temperature is much higher than the sun’s temperature. If it is impossible to get out our galaxy, which is like a lentil in ocean, so can we get out the space (lowest heaven)? This is also impossible and these are established scientific facts discovered in the second part of the 20th century, but the Holy Quran talked about it 14 centuries ago in the verses: - “Have they not then observed the sky above them, how We have constructed it and beautified it, and how there are no rifts therein?” (Qaf, 6). - “O company of jinn and men, if ye have power to penetrate (all) regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate (them)! Ye will never penetrate them save with (Our) sanction.” (Ar’rahman, 33). From previous verses we understand that the lowest heaven decorated with planets and stars is a strong structure without any gaps. We can also understand that jinns and humans cannot get out of them unless with Allah’s power. “Power” here does
not mean knowledge power, it means Allah’s power in exception and we would not believe Prophet Muhammad PBUH when he was ascended to the seventh heaven and beyond with Allah’s power. This was also told by the Quran 14 centuries ago and this proves that it is the speech of Allah revealed to his messenger and its miracle is continuous and renewable along time. Therefore, this shows that the lower heaven means space and neither humans nor jinns are able to get out of the universe. However, the jinn, that were created stronger than humans 1 by Allah, managed to reach locations in the lower heaven (space) to listen to angels’ speech who reside the first heaven without reaching it, which is one of the seven heavens.
This was happening before the birth of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, but after his birth, Allah says: - “And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors”. (Al Jinn, 8 & 9). - “Save him who stealeth the hearing, and them doth a clear flame pursue.” (Al Hijr, 18). - “They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; Save him who snatcheth a fragment, and there pursueth him a piercing flame.” (As’saffat, 8 – 9 & 10). From previous verses, we can understand the jinns speech:
1 It is not strange that the jinns reached locations in the lowest heaven as humans are less powerful than jinns but they managed, from their location on earth, to discover and locate far targets using radars, discover planets and stars using the telescope and identify star components using the spectroscope in addition to invention of remote sensing devices.
We tried to reach locations in the lowest heaven (space), where we were sitting and stealing angels’ speech and we found it full of meteors and who tries to reach these locations now (after the birth of Prophet Muhammad PBUH) this makes it like a star that detects and burns it. Somebody may ask what is the proof that jinns did not penetrate heavens and the Earth?. Our answer will be that the managed to penetrate and reach locations of the lowest heaven that enabled them to hear and steal angels’ speech, they would inform sorcerers who work with them anything they hear and any of the unknown such as earthquakes, volcanoes, winds or floods, times of starvation and financial crises, wars, etc. if all of the previous happened, humans would call for help from researchers and experts in all fields and sorcerers would be superior with their words, but this did not happen due to Allah’s mercy over mankind, so humans and jinns are unable to penetrate regions of Earth and heavens as was proved by the Quran and Prophet Muhammad PBUH’s speech. 5- The Seven Heavens Allah, the Almighty, says: “He it is Who created for you all that is in the earth. Then turned He to the heaven, and fashioned it as seven heavens. And He is knower of all things.” (Al Baqara, 29). “Say (O Muhammad, unto the idolaters): Disbelieve ye verily in Him Who created the earth in two Days, and ascribe ye unto Him rivals? He (and none else) is the Lord of the Worlds, He placed therein firm hills rising above it, and blessed it and measured therein its sustenance in four Days, alike for (all) who ask; Then turned He to the heaven when it was smoke, and said unto it and unto the earth: Come both of you, willingly or loth. They said: We come, obedient, Then He ordained them seven heavens in two Days and inspired in each heaven its mandate; and We decked the nether
heaven with lamps, and rendered it inviolable. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Knower.” (Fusselat, 9 – 12). “And We have built above you seven strong (heavens)” (An’nabaa’, 12). “Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts?” (Al Mulk, 3). “And we have made the sky a roof withheld (from them). Yet they turn away from its portents.” (Al Anbiaa’, 32). Prophet Muhammad, PBUH says in Saheh Al Bukhary, in the ascension part:
“Gabriel took me till we reached the first heaven and a voice said: who is that? Gabriel Said: Gabriel The voice: and who is with you? Gabriel Said: Muhammad The voice: and he was s sent? Gabriel Said: yes The voice: welcome, we are blessed. Gabriel: this is your father, Adam, greet him, so I greeted him and he greeted me back and the n welcoming Saleh and then ascended to the second haven, etc ”. Accordingly, we can understand that Allah created the earth with its mountains, relief and wealth and then created strong seven heavens like a ceiling against any penetration by all devils (humans or jinns) in vertical strata where angels and some prophets and messengers reside as Allah, the Almighty, says: - “A day when the heaven with the clouds will be rent asunder and the angels will be sent down, a grand descent.” (Al Furqan, 25). - “The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, with all decrees.” (Al Qadr, 4).
- “And how many angels are in the heavens whose intercession availes naught save after Allah gives leave to whom He chooses and acceptes.” (Al Najm, 26). From previous verses we notice that Prophet Muhammad, PBUH’s speech was only restricted to the seven heavens and not other “heavens”, so any speech by Prophet Muhammad, PBUH mentioning the lowest heaven, this means the first heaven of the seven heavens as it is the nearest to earth.
But where are these seven heavens? Science have not reached yet to identify “the seven heavens” and this is not strange as science would not, for long centuries, know anything about the moon’s surface although it is supplementary to the earth and certain information about the moon revealed in the second half of the 20th century. In addition, German scientists discovered a star in space with an age of tem million years which makes it still unknown for humans only in 2008. Moreover, on 18/12/2009, “Al Ahram” posted in the second page that scientists from Harvard University declared that they discovered a new planet rich with water and its size is two times & a half bigger than the earth and rotates around a less emitting and smaller star than the sun. this planet is found in a distance of 40 light years.
All previous facts were still unknown for humans for long centuries, so o wonder that the seven heavens are still unknown for humans so far.
