Islamic Architecture
Islamic architecture is defined as the structural characteristics of Muslims to form an identity in the areas they entered and reached. With the advent of Islam, man tried a lot to create aesthetic value for the buildings surrounding him, especially places of prayer.

History of the Islamic Architecture
Early Islamic architecture was influenced by Roman, Byzantine, Persian, Mesopotamian and all other lands which the Muslims conquered in the 7th and 8th centuries. Further east, it was also influenced by Chinese and Indian architecture as Islam spread to Southeast Asia.

Islamic Architecture Map
This type of architecture has invaded most Muslim areas, most notably Turkey, the Levant, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the Maghreb, as well as Iraq and the Arabian Peninsula. Islamic architecture has been influenced by the Islamic religion and its scientific renaissance, and Islamic architecture varies from region to region.

There are many common features in Islamic Architecture all over the world. Most are have a religious nature but others are also designed to provide comfort and rest to weary travelers and marchants.

The Dome
The dome is characteristic feature of Muslim religous architecture, it is an ancient architectural form, which Muslims included in building mosques. Perhaps the motive for using them was initially an architectural motive, then it became an aesthetic motive.

The peaked arch commonly used in Islamic Archiecture. A deeper understanding represent the common origin (from Allah).

Muzharul Islam Hewas a Bangladeshi architect, urban planner, educator and activist. He is considered as the Grand Master of regional modernism in South Asia. Islam is the pioneer of modern architecture in Bangladesh and the father of Bengali modernism.
