Viewer should get a good impression of your work in the first 5 minutes of browsing Don’t use complicated layouts Show sketches in a separate section Think about website domain names, and mobile friendly options Physical portfolios are not as necessary Website should include an ‘about’ section (short bio, client list, expertise, and contact details). Tailor portfolio to suit the client Social media to branch out and promote self, show processes and sketches, as well as a few finished projects Look into illustrator rights, and always make sure to have a contract to avoid misunderstandings

Alice Pattullo

This layout is a little more busy than I would prefer but I love how consistent the style and colours are, everything flows beautifully and I can get a really good idea of this artist’s work by browsing for only a few minutes.

Harry Tennant

This layout is easily navigated, with a sidebar listing the links to contact information and social media pages. I think there is maybe a disconnect between each of the artworks shown, but this also demonstrates the variety of this artist’s work which is good to show. Jonny Wan

This portfolio style makes it easier to see each artwork close up and more detailed as it takes up more space on the page, but you don’t get to see as much all at once.
