In summer 2019 I took part in an online prompt based art challenge, I created a new piece of artwork each day relating to each of the words given as a prompt. These are two of those pieces, based on the words ‘goddess’ and ‘flourish’.

This is an editorial piece of work I did in response to an article reporting on the growing problem of ‘eco-anxiety’, or people that experience anxiety in response to climate change and environmental issues. I chose to base the illustration around planet earth as it’s probably the first image that comes to mind when thinking about the environment. The crocodile represents the ‘crocodile tears’ of politicians who only pretend to care and take no action to save our planet, whilst making things worse.

This is an example of some preliminary work I did for a client at Spitfire Studio, to create illustrations based on their music and LABS website which offers free music – I wanted to take the imagery of the instruments used and mix it with other elements, for example the Yueqin instrument above is also known as a ‘moon guitar’.

These are some panels from a graphic novel I have worked on for my final uni project, a short graphic novel focusing on Laika the dog.

This is a book cover design I created for the Penguin Book competition, for the cover of ‘Norwegian Wood’ by Haruki Murakami.

Here is an example of a clay pot and frog figure I created in a ceramics workshop.

Here are some examples of my wool needle felting work – I created 7 animal figures from wool felt, wire, and fabric, in response to one of my uni briefs. The animals represent the humans that killed them, and are wearing their clothes. I exhibited this project at my uni in our class curated exhibition we called ‘Wanderfest’.

This is a page from a small zine style publication I created in my first year at uni. It was all done in pencil, and was about human impact on our wildlife, focusing primarily on red squirrels and grey squirrels.

This is the finished product of a documentary project I did for uni. I sat and sketched daily life in my local pub a couple of days a week, and focused primarily on the dogs, and how dog friendly establishments encourage people to talk and socialise with others.
