Dear Rider Welcome to the inaugural edition of Haute Route Mexico! This event marks the start of an exiting new era; it is an honour to be introducing MÊxico as the newest addition to the renowed Haute Route Cycling Series and we are thrilled to be welcoming riders from 26 different nations to compete here. Haute Route MÊxico presents an authentic and challenging route. The team has been working hard to ensure that we deliver the very best experience as you embark on an event that will take you through some of Valle most beautiful landscapes. Your Roadbook provides a comprehensive guide to all the information will need during the three days of Haute Route Mexico 2019, both on and off the bike. Here you will find out all you need to know about the registration process and the technical stage information, in addition to details of the mechanical and medical assistance that will be provided during the event. If you’re an international rider, travelling to Mexico is also covered, including the tourist visa requirements. Event Overview The inaugural edition of the Haute Route Mexico offers an exceptional course trough magical towns, volcanos, lakes and mexican athmosphere. This location features demanding climbs, thrilling descents and stunning scenery everywhere you look. Not only will you get to experience the beauty of the mountains and pine forests, but you will also cycle through villages and small towns full of local colour and culture.

VILLAGE ARRIVAL – The event village will be open from 2:00pm to 6:30pm (from 1:00pm for the Infinity Pass Holders). Before exploring the village and visiting partners’ and exhibitors’ booths, make sure you follow the steps outlined below. BIKE PARK – If you brought your bike with you to the village use the secure bike park while you complete the registration process. EQUIPMENT CHECK – Present the following mandatory equipment to the organisation before being allowed to proceed to bib collection: Hard-shell helmet,wind stopper jacket, gloves, glasses, leg warmers.

BIB COLLECTION – Collect your bib, bike plate, timing chip and Haute Route Mexico registration pack (you will need one form of photo ID).

OFFICIAL PHOTO - Don’t forget to have your official Haute Route picture taken.

BIKE PLATE – Once you’ve collected your registration pack, attach your bike plate on to your handlebars. It is forbidden to alter, cut or fold your bike plate. WELCOME BRIEFING – Once you have completed all these steps and have visited our partner and exhibitor stands please ensure that you attend the mandatory Rider Briefing at 6:30 pm at the village. Bikes allowed. PASTA PARTY – To start the Haute Route in the right way, make new friends over dinner at the Pasta Party, which will take place at the village
Finally, don’t forget to pick up your bike if you used the bike park. There is no secure bike park overnight.

Rules And Regulations Rules and Regulations
Key Points
It is important to be aware of all the Rules & Regulations of the Haute Route which include timekeeping & rankings, time limits, equipment allowed, safety, medical and personal assistance, anti-doping and other important topics.
• Respect traffic rules at all times (traffic lights, stop signs, etc.) • Ride on the right hand side of the road • Respect traffic signs of the Haute Route

Equipment check
• Wear your bib on your back
The following equipment is mandatory and must be presented by every rider during registration to pass the Equipment Safety Check prior to collecting your bib and registration pack: • Hard-shell helmet • Wind stopper jacket • Gloves • Glasses
• Position your frame plate on the front of your handlebars • No earphones
Sustainability By entering the Haute Route, you commit to respect the environment and the natural areas visited. It is strictly forbidden to leave any type of waste (paper, plastic packaging etc) on the course. Any rider caught throwing waste on the course can be penalised or even disqualified. Compact / Original rankings To be included in the General Classification (overall and for age group), participants need to ride only the Original course or only the Compact course for both Stages 1 and 2. If you mix-and-match, riding Original course one day and Compact course another, you will be ranked in the stage results but you will be removed from the General Classification. It is mandatory to ride the course you are registered to.

Feed Stations All feed stations throughout the Haute Route will be stocked with a variety of different products to help you fuel and hydrate for your ride. From a variety of drinks and energy products to sweet and savoury whole foods, there will be something to suit everyone’s taste.

Your start time is defined by your overall ranking following the previous stages and riders will set off in reverse order of the general classification. 1. Call times and start times published at the briefing after the previous stage and available online 2. Present yourself in the waiting area at your call time 3. Enter the Time Trial start pen 2 minutes before your start time 4. Enter the start ramp 20 seconds before your start Please note, Duo riders will ride down the start ramp individually, and their start time will be based on the ranking of the slowest rider in their Duo.
