Out on Willie Nelson’s Luck Ranch in Spicewood Willie Nelson celebrates his 86th birthday and showing no signs of slowing down. Out on his Spicewood ranch, Willie hosts the highly anticipated Luck Reunion every year and recently released a new album, Ride Me Back Home, that Haute Finds was lucky enough to hear at a live previewing in The Chapel built originally for a movie set. If you ever have a chance to attend a show in The Chapel, don’t miss it. It’s like a step back in time and very intimate setting with its two rows of church pews that holds 45 people. It’s the best venue to watch up and coming artists at Luck Reunion and where the live preview of Willie’s new album, Ride Me Back Home, was taped by Sirius XM. His daughter, Paula Nelson, led the interview with her dad and producer/ co-writer, Buddy Cannon, now on their 13th album together. OVER 70 RESCUE HORSES ROAM THE LUCK RANCH

When you enter Luck Ranch off Bee Creek Road, you’re greeted by a handful of the 70+ horses Willie has rescued from slaughterhouses with the help of Habitat For Horses. They are one of the largest equine protection organizations in the country with their main facilities in Texas with an extensive network of foster homes that devote much of their lives to the rehabilitation and retraining of the equine that come through their gates.

Every year, Willie opens up his ranch to 2000 of his biggest fans for Luck Reunion, a movement to attract and celebrate musicians, artisans, and chefs, who like the outlaws and outliers before them follow their dreams without compromise. It’s an intimate space to kick back Willie style among the old timey buildings, enjoy the music, people watch and make a lot of new friends. Technically, it’s in Lakeway.” This small nonprofit has established itself as the hidden gem of Austin’s theatre scene. With over 7,500 patrons a year visiting the intimate theatre space, TexARTS is a performance arts destination that consistently provides high quality entertainment for the greater Austin area. Producing four professional and five youth shows every year along with offering after-school classes and camps in their year-round academy, TexARTS is always buzzing with performance opportunities and arts education for students of all ages. TexARTS prides itself in hiring the area’s best designers, performers, and directors for their productions. Whether you live nearby or in the Austin city limits, a TexARTS show is always worth the trip. UPCOMING SEASON LINEUP

TexARTS Professional Series kicks off the season with one of Broadway’s most beloved musicals, Annie (July 12-August 4). A show that has truly stood the test of time, what makes Annie so memorable is not just its universally adored music, but also its heartwarming story about the importance of childhood. In July, that story will take on new life in the performances of our very own TexARTS Academy students, many of whom will be making their professional debut in the company of well seasoned theatre artists. Then in October, we will devour your musical appetite with Little Shop of Horrors (October 4-20). This musical based on the cult classic film will surely leave you hungry for more. When the weather gets cold, enjoy the holiday cabaret A Cool Yule (December 13-21). We’ll wrap up our season with the return of the ladies from Springfield High and all those groovy hits from the ’60’s and ’70’s in The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On (February 14- March 1). You don’t want to miss this amazing lineup! Performances are held at TexARTS in the intimate Kam & James Morris Theatre housed in the Erin Doherty Family Studios at 2300 Lohman’s Spur, Suite #160 in Lakeway. Tickets start at $43.
