AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW ON THIS BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN DAY, I CAN’T BELIEVE this year is coming to a close. While the leaves change from hues of green to delicate shades of gold and brown, I am reminded of all that we have to be thankful for in 2022, especially our dedicated owner and publisher, Olivia Decker. Festival Napa Valley’s Olivia Decker Power of Music Series showcases globally recognized performing artists and emerging talent in live presentations throughout the Bay Area. She has entrusted me with the mighty task of creating content that resonates with you, our esteemed readers. Of course, none of this would be possible without our cadre of award-winning writers, authors, journalists, and experts who contribute to the success of Haute Living, San Francisco. In this issue, you’ll find a bevy of treats, including the most spectacular gift guide for those who deserve an extra special present this holiday season. We rounded up the most coveted gifts of the year, and you can read all about them on page 22. In addition, we asked San Francisco’s top hotel concierges about their favorite places to eat and find out what they recommend on page 44.
Ready for a vacation? The wine in Switzerland is so good that the Swiss keep it all to themselves. We went to the Lavaux near Lausanne to tipple, hike, and play lakeside. Come join us on this extraordinary experience on page 50. Need more of a break? Take a trip to Costa Rica’s Blue Zone for a healing getaway where you can disconnect from your frantic life and reconnect to nature (page 98).
If you want to stay close to home and enjoy the bounty of fresh food in Northern California, our writers take us on a few delicious epicurean adventures that will make your mouth water. Read about the restaurants and their specialties in our Haute Cuisine section (page 32).
Looking for some fun food and wine pairings for your holidays? We got you covered on page 24 with some of the top offerings this season.
In this issue, we are excited to introduce our fresh layout and design, envisioned by our new creative director, Michelle Restante. She is a welcomed addition to our team of top-notch professionals, and we look forward to seeing the magazine flourish under her creative direction.
