EDITORS NOTE Wheew! What a month it has been. We have been swamped in our office producing our second annual charity gala called Fashion Strikes Back. This gala promotes awareness and raises money to help support the victims of domestic violence. I have been trying to wear many, many hats to get this issue pushed out and produce the gala. Now with the gala behind us, I have spent the last few days and nights editing the final content for our 24th issue. The Pop Art Issue! This issue has been a BLAST to produce. We have been able to tap into our inner Andy Warhol and produce some amazing neon colored images. We can only hope we did dear old Andy proud with our interpretation of his cult classic paintings. Pop art was an art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in the late 1950s in the United States. Pop art challenged tradition by asserting that an artist’s use of the mass-produced visual commodities of popular culture is contiguous with the perspective of fine art. Pop removes the material from its context and isolates the object, or combines it with other objects, for contemplation. The concept of pop art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it. Which is what we set out to accomplish with each and every issue of HAUTE. Cover image and interior fashion images were inspired by the pop art movement and the cover image and interior spread “KA-Pow” was shot by our creative director Mark Vargas. We hope you are inspired and enjoy. Drea Hull Editor at Large

Hendrick Brun
This season my shoe obsession is the Hendrick Brun Sheela bootie in black suede (shown at right) Priced at $149.00 this shoe is perfect for the hard-working sophisticated woman that has a bit of an edge to her. She’s not afraid to strut in her heels during and after work to enjoy her evening. This shoe would fit perfectly into any women’s shoe collection. I love to rock this bootie with shorts, a swingy femine dress or a pair of sleek skinny jeans. The versatile fabric is timeless, edgy with a bit of East Coast sophistication www.hendrickbrun.com Also comes in grey with yellow Patent leather accent and zipper trim Gareth Pugh’s much-anticipated Spring/Summer 2012 collection was revealed on September 28, 2011 at the Garage Turenne in Paris with Minx nail fashion providing the finishing touch. Always daring, Gareth Pugh opened the show with a short filfeaturing model Crystal Renn wearing custom Purple Minx nails with a spine cleverly designed by legendary nail stylist Marian Newman. “The stripes complemented the leather cages surrounding the models’ footwear and ensembles,” explained Marian, who told us that the models also wore Purple Minx on their toes. Marian also revealed that the four male models of the show maintained the theme by wearing Matte Silver Minx on their fingers. In an innovative move, celebrated makeup artist Alex Box also used slender strips of Minx to create a disjointed, floating eyeliner for the models. “The effect was amazing, and so ingenious” said Marian, who admits she had never seen Minx used as makeup before.“The overall theme of the show with its cages and bars and lines was delivered perfectly!”

Kate Jarosinska
Fashion fuels creativity. Fashion fuels my creativity. Clothing is an experience that always requires one to change, to innovate and to shift. As a poet, taking fashion and creating out of it a tangible experience for the reader has become a compulsion for me. I see the world in words and I prefer to paint pictures with words rather than colors. I share my experience with the world through fashion and strive to make noticeable that which is evasive. In addition to managing marketing and sales for a commercial printer, I also enjoy looking for inspiration in outdoor activities, music and people. One of my favorite things to do is to look at pretty things and read somber poems; I attribute this pleasure to the lost soul, Rimbaud. If I were to have dinner with Rimbaud, I would also invite Jim Morrison, Robert Greene, Machiavelli and Salvador Dali.
Marco Ruiz a web designer originally from Baja California and now living in San Diego, CA. Besides working with web, he enjoys graphic design and playing guitar. Glad to be on the team!

David Benoliel My name is David Benoliel, 35 years old. Originally from Paris, I moved to Miami and have found my true passion for photography less than 2 years ago. I opened my studio and practiced day and night before allowing myself to show my work to agencies and magazines. Beauty and Fashion are my main interest and I try to have all the time at least one personal project to handle on the side. One of them was actually exhibited during Art Basel 2010 around the theme of “Arts for a better world”, each one of the 13 pieces I created was denunciating the different problems the world is now facing. The collaboration of light and beauty is what breathes life into my work. The unique images are produced through my appreciation for strong features and sharp colors. I feel that an image should provoke a feeling; it should inspire or trigger something very deep within the observer. I like to reveal each woman's beauty, personality and individuality through my photographs. I have been recently represented by FORD and I can’t wait to share my new upcoming projects. I'm very happy to contribute with my work and be featured in HAUTE magazine!

The Evolution of Samantha Marq
By Kate Jarosinska Haute Staff Writer Fashion and music keep one another alive. You absolutely can't have fashion without music, and music without fashion. Really, it's about the execution of style; a way to create an exhibition of reality and a tangible interpretation of relatable and genuine expression. Each artist possesses a style and the more real their style is, the longer it lasts. Samantha Marq, is here to stay. After launching popular dance hits like "Supergirl" and "I Like to Party", it's no wonder the blond sensation exudes a sense of purpose and fiercely energetic dedication. In addition to her driven and focused attitude, Samantha's just fun and edgy; ultimately, no different from her music. Samantha defies the sense of security surrounding most mainstream artists and instead possesses a voice and style that seeps onto the dance floor and infiltrates the blood in everyone's veins. Growing Up in Virginia beach with a famous father, a member of the 80’s power group “A Flock of Seagulls”, she was always surrounded by the music industries top talent. Eagerly involved in performance, she was draw to and passionate about arts, musical theatre and Broadway shows, her aspirations were to perfect what she loved to do, to perform. But being surrounded by an experienced team of musical professionals didn’t necessarily pave her way to fame. As Samantha discusses how her dad shaped her frame of mind on the industry and helped prepare her for what she was going to encounter, she muses, “It was more of a hindrance that my father had a famous recording studio and was famous. They knew the industry and wanted to protect me from it. Eventually, I realized that the struggle was just a form of preparation.” It’s no secret that the music industry as a whole, is
