AR HOMES PARTNERS WITH McCOMB PELLA TO INVITE THE OUTSIDE IN

Light and bright, spacious and airy. That’s what homeowners are looking for when they build a custom home these days. Achieving that look means selecting a floor plan that includes windows that wow, and nobody does that better than McComb Pella Windows & Doors. Scott Bates and Christopher Carnell, partners in Christopher Scott Investments, Inc., use only the best, which is why they have partnered with Pella for years. Christopher Scott Investments, Inc. is an independently owned and operated franchise of AR Homes. While it’s still a very personalized, high-end home-building process, it’s a little different than building a custom home from scratch.

“Instead of starting with a white sheet of paper, we have a plan collection that’s already designed and priced that our clients start with and then modify,” says Bates, franchise owner of AR Homes, who has decades of custom homebuilding experience. “The idea is that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Instead, you can modify an existing plan, which makes it easier and quicker to put the plan together and stay on budget during the design process.”

Bates and Carnell operate two different divisions – the Christopher Scott side and the AR Homes by Christopher Scott side. Both divisions use Pella Windows by McComb and have had a solid relationship with the team at McComb Pella for two decades now.

“They have always done a great job for us, both from a product perspective as well as responsiveness from their sales team,” says Bates.

AR Homes currently has a model called the Creekside that’s set to open to the public this spring at Holliday Farms in Zionsville and will be open seven days a week.

“It’s a very cool, very modern home with lots of glass – large, oversized windows and doors, which is sort of the new thing,” says Bates, noting that this is where the market is going. “It makes sense with these homes, especially given that a lot of the sites we build on have tremendous views of the golf course, lake or woods. Not only does the glass look beautiful, but it really directs your attention to the stunning views around you.”

The Pella product elevates the project not only because it’s a brand name that clients trust but also because the quality is exceptional.

“I think more and more the way contemporary modern design styles are going, the windows become a more prominent feature in our homes,” says Bates. “We are proud to display them in our homes.”

They frequently use Pella’s Lifestyle series, which is a more customized, elaborate series with an array of features. On more contemporary homes, however, they often utilize the Pella Contemporary series that offers cleaner lines and less visible wood and framing.

“They also have a lot of neat, new collapsible stacking doors for those wide-open spaces to bring the outdoors in,” says Bates. “Homeowners can open these collapsing door systems, lowering the motorized screen system on the deck, which really opens up your interior and exterior ports. This allows homeowners to enjoy the luxurious golf course and lake views.”

Whether you are embarking on a new custom home build or replacing windows in your current home, you will thank yourself for trusting the experts. Connect with McComb Pella or AR Homes by Christopher Scott today.

5 Tips to Make Your Design Center Trip a Success

1. GO WITH A PLAN

You can go to a design center and browse, imagine, and draw inspiration – and we encourage that! That said, if you are in the middle of a significant project, it is optimal to go into your visit with a solid plan:

+ Establish a clear goal for your visit + Set your budgetary guidelines + Have your measurements in hand

2. BRING YOUR VISIONS

If you or your clients have Pinterest boards, scrapbooks, portfolios, printouts, pages torn from magazines, etc., take them with you to the design center. This will help the experts get a clear picture of your goals and provide the advice, products, and services you require to make them a reality.

3. BRING PHOTOS/SAMPLES

When you’re going to a design center on a mission, specificity is your friend. To achieve your goals, bring photos of the home, copies of plans and/or blueprints, and even small samples.

4. … AND TAKE PHOTOS

Bring your trusty phone and take photos of products or displays that catch your eye. This way, you can take your time to review, think, consider, weigh the options, and consult with your builder or client.

5. ASK QUESTIONS

This is what design center tenants are here for: you. They are experts in their respective fields, and you can leverage their knowledge, experience, and insight for optimal results. Before your trip, prepare a list of questions concerning your project needs and goals.
