While it’s still a very personalized, high-end home-building process, it’s a little different than building a custom home from scratch. “Instead of starting with a white sheet of paper, we have a plan collection that’s already designed and priced that our clients start with and then modify,” says Bates, franchise owner of AR Homes, who has decades of custom 3 8 H AV E N
homebuilding experience. “The idea is that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Instead, you can modify an existing plan, which makes it easier and quicker to put the plan together and stay on budget during the design process.” Bates and Carnell operate two different divisions – the Christopher Scott side and the AR Homes by Christopher Scott side. Both divisions use Pella Windows by McComb and have had a solid relationship with the team at McComb Pella for two decades now. “They have always done a great job for us, both from a product perspective as well as responsiveness from their sales team,” says Bates. AR Homes currently has a model called the Creekside that’s set to open to the public this spring at Holliday Farms in Zionsville and will be open seven days a week.
